Project Name: Records Center

ECM platform is implemented based on Flexible Compliance model involving both Hierarchical File Plan and Big Bucket approach.  Meta data and Taxonomy management was used resulting in Navigation based on Taxonomy and effective search.  Information Management Policies for various contents are applied based on business rules and legal requirements.

Following types of contents are managed, namely Email, Papers, Documents and Faxes.  Record center was provisioned for legal contracts.  eDiscovery process was designed for compliance team.  Legacy data in network share, cabinets and Lotus Notes were migrated to SharePoint on day zero.

Responsible for dealing with the structure and use of information within the organization, and the alignment of information with the organization's strategic, tactical, and operational needs.  As part of discovery phase, contents and information entities relationship from business process was identified.

EY is a leading accounting firm and the current website has 90K pages, across 160 countries and contents in 16 languages. Providing consistent navigation for the website visitor and ability to retrieve stored data is very important to improve the user experience.

Taxonomy was developed based on EY business model, which starts with Industries served and multiple sub categories bases on top level verticals.  Automatic tagging was implemented based on Taxonomy categorization selected by the authors.  Content classification can also be done by the content authors to additional Meta data for their contents.

Consistent user experience was provided based on concepts of sections and subsections, which automatically creates user objects in the web pages.  Breadcrumbs were placed in all pages to track the user path during their travel.

Project Name: Site Governance

A leading garment importer had their sales opportunities managed through a legacy CRM application.  When a new lead is created in the CRM and on meeting certain criteria, a new MOSS site must be created.  Various business rules were to be followed in creation of the new sites.  The rule engine developed was highly customizable by Business Analyst, during the course of the execution.

MOSS web service was used in the site provisioning.  Because of the high transactions, multiple content databases are used by the farm and round robin mechanism is followed during site creation.  The sales team from CRM was given various roles in the newly created sites for security.  When the sales team for the lead is changed in CRM, the security of the respective site for that lead is also updated automatically.

Rollup web parts were implemented for sales people to view their tasks, documents and events from multiple sites to which they have access to.

Project Name: Performance Reports Portal

Hedge Fund Company wanted to publish the performance reports of their customers to a secured Intranet portal.  The fund managers will enter the fund details in an InfoPath form.  The customer investment details were available in a different LOB application.  The report templates were developed for the reports to be developed.  Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly reports are generated and published automatically to an Intranet Portal.  Reports were available in PDF and DOCX format.

SharePoint Charts Web Part was used to display the SSRS reports   Users can do a data drill down and export to Excel.  KPI can be set by the customers and displayed using the KPI Web Part either as Traffic light indicator or custom presentation formats.

Project Name CRM Implementation

Service and Sales module were implemented for 4 countries of a leading Service company.  CRM was rolled out for about 170 users based on customized business process across various business units with the organization.  The system tracks the complete customer experiences, in providing Service for various types of customers, namely, Phone, Walk In, On Site and Web.

Invoices created are integrated with SAP and NAV.  Custom Inventory module was developed to track the stock movement and also the loaner machines.  Employees and external users can request for parts for every repair and is tracked automatically during the billing section.

CRM data was exposed to non employees like external service technicians through a web application.  License fees for the external users were saved using this approach taking advantage of CRM external data connector.  Customer Portal allowed the online warranty data creation by end users avoiding manual data entry of sales data.

Legacy data from Lotus Notes were migrated to CRM.  Contacts, Cases, Invoice and Activities entity records were transferred to CRM for all the 4 countries   Management report developed in SSRS were published to a SharePoint portal.

Project Name: Collaboration Portal

Intranet Portal was developed for employee collaboration across multiple departments for a pharmaceutical company. Employees can access various contents for their day to day work.  Questions in form of discussion can be posted to various departments.  Subject Matter Experts (SME) will monitor the forums and answer these questions.  This becomes a Knowledge Base which includes various categories like self service section, commonly asked questions and videos in the media library. Blogs and My Sites were provisioned for power users and trained to publish various KPI reports.

Web Parts were developed to list the sites users belong to which will be updated dynamically once the sites are created.   Hot discussion and commonly asked questions were shown prominently based on the custom web parts developed.

Project Name: Intranet Portal

Secure and personalized portal was developed for a university, which acts as Intranet for Employees, Staff, Students and Visitors.

Quick launch bar was customized to use ASP 2.0 menu.  InfoPath forms allow visitors to apply for job openings and Work flow was implemented using WWF.  Customized Master Pages were used and deployed through Site definitions.  Authentication is handled through LDAP (Domino directory) and Authorization through custom role provider.

Custom Meta data field controls were created in the publishing pages for the authors and editors to select the Taxonomy hierarchy during content creation.  These field controls were also used in the content deployment process between authoring and publishing servers in the farm.

Technology used: MOSS 2007, WWF, InfoPath, and LDAP authentication.


Project Name: MOSS 2007 Rollout

New MOSS 2007 server farm was setup for a Media Company.  Architecture was developed using 2 Web Front servers, 1 Application server and a database cluster.  SAN storage was used for storage.  Maintenance policies and SLA were implemented.

Training was provided for administrators to create Team Sites and Project Sites.

Search was configured with multiple crawl rules being set for various sites.  Faceted search results were provided for end users, for automatic grouping of results.  Security trimming was applied for the search results.

Custom ‘Report web parts’ were created to provide rollup from lists across various sites.  Consolidated Tasks and Calendar web parts to display data from multiple sites were developed.

The client had about 126 paper forms and changed to Electronic Forms (InfoPath).  Multi-level workflow was implemented for the forms using WWF.  Item level security and some reporting were also provided using workflow.

Project Name: SPS 2003 migration

Custom migration plan was developed for an Oil company.  The SPS installation had about 300 top level sites and had performance issues.  Migration tool was developed which will allowed the clients to move only specific sites with the ability to create a separate content database for the migrated site.

The overall migration plan was similar to Microsoft suggested in-place migration, with few custom changes to suit the client environment.  New MOSS 2007 environment with NLB WF and database clusters were implemented.  After migration, MOSS enterprise search was deployed.

Project Name: Dashboard (MySites) deployment.

Dashboard functionality was provided for different types of users using MySite Role based template implementations.  Custom master pages were developed and deployed using MOSS Feature functionality.  Based on the user roles, users will have access to different web parts.  Web parts provide personalized data based on the user responsibilities like budget information, help desk ticket status and employee leave requests.

Project Name: Document compliance management.

As business analyst, reviewed the compliance requirements for the current industry LOB.  Workflow was implemented based on the metadata values for the documents being uploaded.

Custom document library search web part was developed to display the search results in a grid format with all the Item tasks links available in the search results.

Project Name: Department Portals

Team Site was customized using Site definitions for branding information to include Themes and custom Master page.  Data consolidation web part to provide rollup of documents from multiple document libraries across various sites was developed.

Custom aspx form pages were developed for user registration and deployed through site definitions during new site creation. Quick item list creation tool bar was developed for the users to create item without using the default SPS entry forms.

Server farm was implemented with 2 NLB web front end servers, 1 index server and database cluster.
