This included designing the Solution, Presenting for Technical review and “Buy-In”, and presenting to the Leadership for Funding. Some of the key accomplishments are below:

SAP Network Infrastructure and Application Security Design

PepsiCo has a very large SAP footprint and needed a security model to protect the environment. The approach I took to design the solution was Defense-In-Depth. I designed a layered security model by segmenting the network using a combination of ASA 5585 and Nexus 7K, creating support network host monitoring tools, and restricting and redefining the access based on roles.

SAP Application Environment was compartmentalized based on the functions such as ERP, Financial, SCM, PLM, and HCMP. Traffic was restricted based on inter-application communication. This allowed an added security layer.

Cloud Application Hosting

As part of the Architecture Team, I evaluated several cloud offering including IBM Smart Cloud, HP Helion, and AWS.  I voted to use AWS based on the requirements and ease-of-use, for PepsiCo to test the viability of PepsiCo application hosting in the cloud; initially deploying the mobile application development environment in the cloud. I also design the security model around the application development in the cloud.

Other Accomplishments

·               Proposed the strategic model for portal application design and optimization.

·               Designed and led the solution for 3rd party access solution for PepsiCo Global.

·   Performed an end-to-end assessment of the secure hosting environment. Provided strategic direction towards the optimizing and securing of the hosting environment while making it more scalable and manageable.

·               Architected the solution for field sites wireless strategy.

·   Designed, standardized, and led the deployment of the layered security model globally to protect PepsiCo intellectual properties and sensitive information environments.

§        Designed, architected and led the team in deploying the solution for the enterprise wide management network environment.

§        Designed and led the team in deploying the hardened RBAC solution for critical environment.
