last three years we have completely replaced the IS infrastructure at every
location. That includes phones, PC’s, servers, network, printers,
wireless, and MPLS circuits.

built out a new data center that included a new private cloud that was
virtualized on Microsoft’s Hyper-V 2012 R2 and Dell Compellent Storage,
built a new core on Cisco 7k’s, new DMZ, and Load Balancing during the same
period.
o In those
three years we also completely switched the entire companies email platform
to Microsoft’s Office 365 and built out a SharePoint tenant.
o We also
built out a Mobile Device Management Platform along with a more restrictive
AD infrastructure.
o Knowledge
of Microsoft’s Hyper-V 2012 R2 requirements for ISCSI, Network, storage,
and hosts.
o Performed
performance reviews for team members and worked with them to build goals.
o Help
create policies and procedures for devices, security, and email.
o Additional
responsibilities include budgeting/forecasting the IS expense budget,
maintenance contracts, personnel, and managing IS related projects for a

AVP of Network Operations (previous position includes Database Team Manager)
o I started at Saxon as a contractor with the goal set
forth by executive management to correct the SQL performance issues, and
bring the DBA group back together and working with other groups. This
took a lot of hands on work with improving, organizing, tuning,
documenting, and changing the way things were being done by the existing
group. We worked together and partnered with Infrastructure and
Development to drastically change the performance and availability of the
SQL server environment. It was at this point that I was asked to take
on other groups to do the same thing with. I stay very technical so
that I know exactly what is going on within the environments. This allows
me to work with the team to make improvements and create a more scalable
and stable environment.
o Managed the Production Infrastructure and Operations
team that consist of DBA’s, Server Engineers, Network Engineers, and
Offshore Monitoring Team.
o Responsibilities include managing 111 SQL servers
(Dev/QA/UAT/Prod) with 25 plus terabytes of data. The management of
the physical Data Center including IDF’s, the management of the Enterprise
monitoring solution, the Change implementation group, and daily datacenter
operations.
o Created policy and procedures for all related
areas. Including Audit policies/procedures, Change Control
policies/procedures, KPIs/KRIs, and vendor scorecards.
o Managed the physical Data Center layout including
cabling, power, and racking.
o Organized and created standards across all SQL
environments (Dev, QA, UAT, and PROD).
o Established Backup and Recovery Strategies for group to
help decide and then implement across the SQL environments.
o Built DBA team to fully support a rapidly growing
environment.
o Handled all licensing for SQL Server and any related
tools including budgeting, forecasting, and renewing.
o Performed Performance reviews for team members and
created goals to help each person reach their goals.
o Worked with different teams to problem solve issues with
Production outages including issues with SQL Performance.
o Worked closely with Network Operations team to help
redesign Storage Subsystems to greatly increase I/O performance for SQL
environments.
o Worked on budgeting and planning for hardware refreshes
of Dev, QA, UAT, and Production SQL Server instances.
o Created SQL Standard Build installation documents for
SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 installations.
o Stabilized the Production environment through change
control and tuning to limit Production outages.
o Managed the Business Continuity Plan for the Database
group. Including planning, budgeting, and testing the Disaster
Recovery environment.
o Completed the Managers Essentials Program – Consisting
of 12 separate class modules including Situational Leadership 1&2.
