Director of IS Infrastructure and Operations

o Director of the IS Infrastructure and Operations team which consists of Helpdesk, Desktop, Windows, Linux, Network, VOIP, and SQL server engineers.

o Manage all infrastructure, contracts, pricing, negotiations, and maintenance.  Including all project planning for all maintenance, refresh, and new projects for the business.

o Heavily involved in technical decisions and future planning for all infrastructure within the company.

o Experienced with rapid growth while managing all other projects.  Working to double the company from 550 million to 1.2 billion is those same three years.

o Team of 14 supports over 1800 users and 4000 devices which includes all maintenance and new projects.  These devices include server, SAN, network, PC/laptops, printers, VOIP phones, and MPLS circuits to 130 locations in 10 states.

o We also built out a Mobile Device Management Platform along with a more restrictive AD infrastructure.

o Knowledge of Microsoft’s Hyper-V 2012 R2 requirements for ISCSI, Network, storage, and hosts.

o Performed performance reviews for team members and worked with them to build goals.

o Help create policies and procedures for devices, security, and email.

o Built and Managed the Cloud Application Services Operations Team that includes Database Administrators, Engineers, Quality Assurance Analysts, Release Engineers, and Project managers.

o Rapid expansion and growth of the team adding 23 new hires in less than 4 months.

o Managed all aspects of the Enterprise Cloud operations that includes Tier 3 support of all Windows servers, VMWare virtualization, SQL Servers, Load Balancers, and Firewalls. o I started at Saxon as a contractor with the goal set forth by executive management to correct the SQL performance issues, and bring the DBA group back together and working with other groups.  This took a lot of hands on work with improving, organizing, tuning, documenting, and changing the way things were being done by the existing group.  We worked together and partnered with Infrastructure and Development to drastically change the performance and availability of the SQL server environment.  It was at this point that I was asked to take on other groups to do the same thing with.  I stay very technical so that I know exactly what is going on within the environments.  This allows me to work with the team to make improvements and create a more scalable and stable environment.

o Managed the Production Infrastructure and Operations team that consist of DBA’s, Server Engineers, Network Engineers, and Offshore Monitoring Team.

o Responsibilities include managing 111 SQL servers (Dev/QA/UAT/Prod) with 25 plus terabytes of data.  The management of the physical Data Center including IDF’s, the management of the Enterprise monitoring solution, the Change implementation group, and daily datacenter operations.

o Created policy and procedures for all related areas.  Including Audit policies/procedures, Change Control policies/procedures, KPIs/KRIs, and vendor scorecards.

o Managed the physical Data Center layout including cabling, power, and racking.

o Organized and created standards across all SQL environments (Dev, QA, UAT, and PROD).

o Established Backup and Recovery Strategies for group to help decide and then implement across the SQL environments.

o Managed all aspects of a 2 million dollar Datacenter budget including forecasting, maintenance contracts, personnel, and future projects.

o Designed and built SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 clustered environments.  Both active/active and active/passive clustered environments.

o Installed and configured SQL replication to move data for certain objects to a Datacenter in California.

o Configured fiber channel switches and SAN/EVA environments for SQL and File/Print servers.

o Responsible for specification, design, implementation and/or management of a Datacenter.

o Managed the monitoring of all servers within the Datacenter including capacity and problem resolution.

o Tuned databases to run faster on a hardware and
software level. Performed tuning and optimization of database objects.

objects, and changes to the physical model.

o Worked heavily with SQL 6.5 environments with exclusive
experience in SQL 7.0 through the Microsoft EAP program. I have worked
