·   As member of the Architecture team designed the new Global architecture keeping in mind scalability, availability, security and future business needs.

 

Regional Site Framework (RSF) – Architect/Lead (Eclipse, J2EE, Weblogic, SQLServer, Rose, EJB3, JPA, Hibernate, Agile)

RSF is the next generation platform that allows Bose Corporation to support multiple Regions and sites in multiple languages.

§ Architected and developed the Regional Site framework starting from getting requirements, defining the scope to delivering the end product.

§ Worked with the Content team to define their requirements and architected the Content Management and delivery solution for the new framework.

§ Several regions live on the framework since RSF framework went live.

§ Business is already seeing cost savings that can be achieved on this platform.

§ Less coupling between the Production team, development tasks, content authoring allows new sites to be launched with minimal efforts.

§ Amount of work needed to add a new Region/Site is very low as the framework provides all the infrastructure service like e-commerce, authoring, content delivery, Security etc. out of the box.

§ Able to respond to business needs efficiently and quickly.

§ Formed and lead a cross-functional team to define the vision for the next version of the platform which was successful implemented.

Services Framework

·   Designed and architected the full lifecycle for the new Services framework.

·   The services framework is a common layer between the legacy and the RSF application that enables integration with third party vendors

·   Introduced dependency management as part of the project using IVY.

·   Defined how the existing apps integrate with the new framework.

 

       AXA Region Launch – Architect/Technical Lead/Business Analyst

§ Helped in gathering requirements and did business analysis for e-commerce functionality which also included how the administration screens work.

§ Able to deliver the project on time despite tight schedules and missed requirements

§ As part of this project enabled e-commerce functionality which is now available to any sites that are on RSF framework.

§ Designed and developed the solution.

§ Delegate tasks to team members including off-shore resources.

Testing Framework

  • Introduced testing framework for both the legacy application and the new RSF platform.

·   The new framework enables developers to test all the layers in our application.

·   The framework also included HttpUnit test framework to enable Integration testing.

·   Added support for cleaning the database before each test case and also insert setup data needed for test.

National Leisure Group (NLG) – Technical Lead (June '05 – Apr ‘07)

§    Worked on the eEuclid product, used by the Agents and other departments internally for booking vacations and cruises.

§    Architected solutions and lead projects including design and impact analysis.

§    Collaborated with other Product line members when a project spans across Product lines.

§    Technical Architect responsible for designing, developing and maintaining 3 Product lines within the Advertising group.

§    Reusable Assets: Played vital role as a Member of the HFWS (Horizontal framework Services committee). HFWS is a Unisys worldwide effort to identify and support and maintain Reusable Asset within Unisys.

§    Technical lead for group involved in studying and analyzing feasibility of integrating Advertising Manager with an ERP product.

Metro: Next generation advertising Product – Associate Architect

§ Involved in re-designing and re–writing of the current AdCenter product with next generation product. Part of a core team responsible for studying the current system, analysis and design for the new architecture, and creating the initial infrastructure and environment for further development.

§ Gathered User requirements using the Use case approach. Facilitated brain-storming sessions for the same.

§ Architected and developed the distributed application using J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, custom JSP tags), Oracle, MS SQL, XML.

Online Order Entry – Associate Architect

§ Designed and developed an online Order Entry System which maps to Web view and Control part of the MVC architecture. The Version 4 AdCenter formed the Model, which enables online processing and entry of Ads. The JSP pages were compiled and created through the XML2JSP transformation tool.

§ XML2JSP Transformer: Developed and designed a transformation tool that generates JSP pages taking XML document as input. Defined a new XML based language to define JSP pages for Advertising. This language had full-fledged support for scripting and layout and could be customized through XML.

Horizontal Services Framework toolkit

§ Contributed in Prototyping for Horizontal Services Framework toolkit in J2EE. (Now a Unisys Reusable Asset)

§ Took part in design and architecture sessions to generate the initial UML diagrams.

Migration System

§ Designed and developed a Migration Utility that enables sites to upgrade their System from one version to a newer version. This utility uses DTC (Data Transformation Services) part of SQL Server 2000 to transfer data between databases and the frond end was developed in Visual Basic. Supports adding of new Migration paths for new Upgrades.

Knoxville Sentinel

§ AdCenter Server: Successfully designed and Implemented Multi-threaded COM+ n-tier AdCenter Server capable of handling inputs from various source including Web, Adstar, FaxAction. Deployed the Server to handle requests from third party online system. Replaced outdated single threaded system and decreased the request time by 75%.

Environment: VB6, COM+, Crystal.

§ Successfully deployed and integrated Adcenter Server with third party web product.

§ Lend technical support to delivery team in upgrading Knoxville customer to the current version of software. Able to cut the upgrade time from 3 days to around 12 hours.

Sanfrancisco News Agency (SFNA)

§ Workflow Manager: Successfully designed and implemented Workflow Manager which enables Orders to be routed through different departments for reviewing, censorship etc. Gathered requirements by talking to different department heads in the newspaper, gave presentations to ensure that workflow meets the requirements. Designed the workflow to be configured for each site.

Environment: VB6, Oracle Stored Procedures.

§ Extended AdCenter Server to support multiple Actions enabling users to Stop, Renew their orders. The Adcenter architecture allows more actions to be added without affecting the overall architecture.

Achievement: Recognized by the customer for excellent support and timely response to their queries.

§ Logging Architecture: Designed and developed logging architecture for Advertising product using MSMQ and COM+ transactional objects. Ensured that logging does not affect the performance of overall Order taking process.

§ Unattended Process Manager: Developed and designed a distributed n-tier system (DCOM) that supports scheduling jobs to be run on different servers in different locations.

§ Successfully delivered and handled version 4.24 of Advertising product on time and thus avoided defaulting the contract. Managed contractors to get the version out on time.

Cabletron Systems – Software Engineer. (Aug99 - Feb00)

§ Worked in the Spectrum group (software division) at the Durham Center.

§ Designed and developed applications for Version 4 of Traffic Accountant in C/C++ on UNIX.

§ Integrated LFAP (Lightweight Flow Accounting Protocol) Version 3 and 4 products.
