Title: Autocap AC100 – Firmware & Smartset-II – Software

Client: Joslyn Hi-Voltage, USA (Jan’04-Nov’04)

Description: The project involved code porting to the low end capacitor controller (LECC) and complete configuration software development for the LECC. The LECC switches (online / offline) the capacitor banks connected on the three phase power lines as per the configuration. The LECC can be configured to switch banks based on the three parameters voltage, temperature and time. Autocap AC100 communicates over MODBUS on RS232.

Title: Mini Point of Sale (POS)

Client: Larsen & Toubro Limited (L & T), India (Jul’03-Dec’03)

Description: The first ever pilot projects for the petrol pump automation (retail automation). The project involved reconciliation of the fuel sold and fuel from the underground tank. The POS system is capable of controlling the functioning of a petrol dispensing unit (PDU) such as authorize, dispense etc. The NP’s PDUs communicates over MODBUS over RS485.

Environment : Visual Basic 6.0 for Windows XP, Petrol Dispensing Units (PDUs), Forecourt Inter Connect (FIC) card.

Title: Ethanol Blending Ratio Monitor and Logger (EBRML)

Client: Larsen & Toubro Limited (L & T), India (Apr’03-Jun’03)

Description: The project demanded to mix 5% ethanol on every one litre of the petrol. The project involved complete installation, programming and commissioning of the PLC unit to automate the Gantry; Gantry is petrol’s distribution point for a city. The project required to display the petrol flow and blending percentage of the ethanol on the LCD display.

§    Installed the complete PLC units over the customer site.

§    Programmed the Quantum PLC using PL7 for the 5% mixture of ethanol in every litre of petrol.

§    Monitored the flow and displayed it by reading from PLC over MODBUS protocol.

§    The complete ethanol blending logging is coded and logging made configurable for the future purpose.

 

Title: Tank Automatic Gauging (LnTAG)

Client: Larsen & Toubro Limited (L & T), India (Nov’02-Mar’03)

Description: The complex project to create the complete OLE for process control (OPC) client. The OPC client needs to display the fuel level in the tank. The tank level needs to be read form the Analog Output (AO) of the PLC.

Environment : Visual Basic 6.0 for Windows XP, Quantum PLC, OPC Server

Language: Visual Basic 6.0, Ladder Logic

Tools: Visual Studio, Visual Source Safe 6.0

§    Learnt the new technology on the fly and complete the project on schedule.
