Job Purpose:Lead the architecture and technology engineering team

Principal Responsibilities:

Leading a team of highly technical resources in multiple cloud technologies, such as VMware, CloudStack/CloudPlatform, OpenStack, Amazon AWS, Google, Public Azure V1/V2 and Azure Pack.

Meeting with business leaders and C level execs wishing to adopt public cloud. Conduct reviews with the customer to help define a plan to achieve their business goals, this is accomplished by finding the right cloud for the customers’ business model and application workload, determining how to save cost once in the cloud, how to migrate workloads, how to build a business continuity plan and how to adopt a hybrid cloud model.

As the technology lead for services my other responsibilities include looking at new technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and micro services, also identifying products and road-map items that can help us build out our public and private cloud capabilities.  These tools have included: Cloud Cost Analysis tool - To ensure workloads are right sized when moving workloads to the cloud to reduce financial expenditure, DRaaS tool – To allow customers to perform Disaster Recovery to/in AWS, Azure and Google with near zero RTO/RPO and a Migration tool - To assist with the moving of workloads in a lift 'n shift scenario.

Job Purpose:Define requirements, develop and release to production an IaaS cloud service delivering public and virtual private cloud services manage Level 3 and engineering resources to deliver cloud technologies.

Principal Responsibilities:

I was responsible for the identification and definition of requirements for an IaaS cloud. In addition I also managed the definition and implementation of service requirements into functional and technical specifications.

I was a contributor to the vendor selection process and managed a number of these vendors directly in various work streams. I was also responsible for supporting the internal buy vs build decision process and ensuring the successful development of the build efforts as well as the amalgamation of internally developed, externally developed and purchased components.

I was also responsible for developing the operational support model reusing processes where applicable and defining new processes and organizations as required guaranteeing service quality.

Additionally I supported the pre-sales process by helping customers conduct POC activities migrating their traditional application infrastructures to the cloud and assisting them with accessing advanced infrastructure management features and enabling their applications to benefit from technologies like live migration and bursting.
