This environment consists of hundreds of systems, with automated scaling (scaling to thousands of systems as loads requirements change), multiple petabytes of storage, Oracle and MongoDB databases, Linux/Windows systems, integrated archival storage, extensive monitoring and logging through Splunk, Cloudtrail, and other security monitoring systems, DDOS services, multiple vulnerability scanning systems, penetration testing program, and integrated Change Management and Business Continuity processes. The MCS application/platform makes use of an Agile integrated DevOps model using Scrum development methodology and cloud based ticketing, code management controls, configuration management automation, and documentation management systems. Operations adhere to the ITIL methodology. Created information security and operations programs, which are ISO certified and MPAA Compliant.

Executive Director Digital Media Center (DMC)2007 – 2012

Managed all aspects of global digital asset management and distribution operations center for this multi-million dollar operation. Supported sales and product development. 

·               Managed technology services within the DMC, enabling first studio feature film production use of a fully digital workflow throughout project life cycle.

·               Led DMC to successfully withstand sophisticated real-world security penetration efforts.

·               Migrated multiple business divisions into integrated digital workflows, representing first major organization workflow overhauls after many years of being a silo environment.

·               Created key infrastructure used by most of the studio divisions and third-party vendors working on productions.

·               Successfully expanded infrastructure capacities, staying within or under budget and was recognized for service excellence each year.

These services supported rich media asset workflows and digital asset management applications used by the global business groups throughout Sony Pictures sudio. Additionally, this infrastructure provided global accelerated file distribution services, digital dailies production services, asset management systems, web services, departmental workflow automations, and transcoding services.

Managed all aspects of the digital media operations center, including the architecture, implementation, and associated business administrative requirements. Created a multi-million dollar operation within two years.

·               Led the growth from two servers, one terabyte of storage, and a network switch to hundreds of servers, many petabytes of storage (on-line/near-line/offline), a large networking infrastructure and large enterprise library environment.

·               Successfully expanded budget during a period of company wide budgets cuts.
