Summary
|
I enjoy
working on both enterprise-backend and user-facing systems, as well as the
unique and unpredictable challenges that sometimes arise within the
high-tech marketplace. My main professional focus so far has been Health
IT, so I’ve become aware and accustomed to some of the typical challenges
and unique facets of the industry, but my general technical interest has
led me into financial software solutions, AI projects, and even the music
business. I enjoy multi-discipline roles, and I’m as comfortable in a
datacenter working on hardware as I am developing software solutions at the
most abstract level.

Senior Solutions Architect
§
Leads the O&M team, consisting of a developer, technical
writer, and technical assistance manager to handle user issues, perform
system maintenance (and coordinate with the rest of the development team),
and create the framework for O&M practices throughout the IT department.
The O&M process includes TFS administration and creation of the
deliverable package (software and documentation).
§
Architected multiple system components and full enterprise systems
in .Net and Java, utilizing custom components, COTS and Open Source systems
to create scalable systems and fulfill guaranteed delivery requirements.
The primary business objective for these systems was data capture,
analysis, and transformation.
§
Accompanies the business development group to conferences and
client-facing events to explain and “evangelize” the technical approach and
solution for potential clients and government representatives. Worked
directly with CDC developers to assist them to develop their components and
integrate with ours using the latest Health IT standards.
§ Formally recognized by FDA for the successful SRP
effort.

Owner
§
Maintains research and product development projects for potential
marketing opportunities, as well as “pure research”:
o
Created a
software/hardware package for controlling virtual instruments (VSTI) using
MIDI signals transferred in serial over USB. The multi-mode device allowed
for mapping and input modes and included input modulation through a “data
glove” interface in real time. (C++ and microcontroller)
o Created a 3d-printable,
configurable, parameter-based prototype for generating a piano teaching and
assistance tool.
o Created a configurable, lightweight
application and framework for remotely discovering and configuring IOT
devices.
o Research and software development
and simulation for modeling the behavior of vehicles in traffic as cellular
automata to create “traffic” as an emergent behavior, and examine how
behavioral changes of the cell would influence the quality of the emergent
traffic.
o Prototyped a framework for Adobe
Flash and Air to create and deploy interactive, multimedia product tours
for multiple environments.
§
Consulted with the development teams for Health IT and Financial
software clients – provided code, documentation and ad-hoc problem solving.
(ASP.Net, .Net Services, WCF)
§
Created the company website and company intranet for a Defense
Contractor, including Google Applications SSO integration, blind comments.
(Drupal, custom PHP and Open Source module integration).

Business Software Developer
§
Developed customizations for Microsoft Dynamics products, including
CRM, GP, and Solomon.
§
Customizations included CRM forms, Sharepoint modules, SSO
solutions using SAML, Direct customizations to GP, excel documents, etc
using VBA, custom desktop application, services and components and web
development. I enjoyed the occasional oddball problem that comes with a
small, flexible environment (ask me about my “codebreaking” problem for a
funny story).
§
Supported the Universal Services Administration Company’s financial
mission in an on-site development role, architecting, developing and
deploying a SOA pipeline for message processing and ETL with Dynamics GP.
Worked directly with the team as part of their Agile process.

leveraging my expertise in both disciplines.
§
Architected, prototyped and implemented message transportation and
transmission components using MSMQ, BizTalk server, WCF, AS2 and the FDA
ESG.
§
Provided system support as the primary O&M participant in a
secure, access controlled client environment. Ensured that solutions
complied with Agency practices and architectural requirements.
