Assisted Merge migrate their Healthcare Clinical Trial Management SaaS applications to IBM’s SoftLayer Cloud.  Managed software application delivery pipeline, from Development through QA to Production.  Assisted in the design and implement a HA deployment architecture based on Kubernentes, Docker and Ansible.

Engaged as the Cloud Foundry Expert to assist team in the rollout and marketing of a new PaaS solution, the Helion Development Platform (HDP), an OpenStack and Cloud Foundry based variant. Represented HP at Cloud Foundry Foundation. Utilized HP Helion Public Cloud to create OpenStack/Cloud Foundry POC’s for various internal and external customers.  Created all Helion developer hackathon plans and materials; significant technical content contributions made to all materials used in HDP workshops and seminars.  Organized and managed HP’s first successful Helion Development Platform hackathon, Developer Week 2015, held in early February.  Overall event winner used Helion HDP as its deployment and hosting platform.  Prepared and presented several workshops on Microservices based application development.

Assisted Software Technology Engineering Group in the design and development of a complex AWS HA VPC hosting environment to support the development of a new mobile software application. Created, built and managed multiple POC’s on VMware vSphere and Amazon AWS.  Automation POC’s included Configuration Management (CM), File Integrity Management (FIM) and full software stack monitoring to support Continuous Integration and agile/rapid release Continuous Delivery.  Met or exceeded teams’ DevOps goals and objectives.

 

Cloud Platform Integrator, HMA - Hospital Management Associates  Naples, FL. 4/2013-7/2013

Duties involved assisting in setting up and configuring a large number of VMware SLES (SUSE v11) instances in a Secure, High Availability, and multi-node private clustered cloud environment to host a custom clinical EMR (Electronic Medical Records) application on AWS - Amazon Web Services and internal VMware servers. 

·   HIPPA and ISO security oriented application linked to multiple internal and external corporate patient databases.

·   Utilized AWS’s High Availability, Elastic Load Balancing setup. Mirrored Apache Web Servers, Tomcat Application Servers and Database Servers in two AZ’s – Availability Zones.  Data Layers replicated on multiple internal (MongoDB) and external (MySQL) servers.

·   Duties included “tuning” multiple VMware SUSE kernels to support MongoDB instances and configuring all firewalls for secure external and internal access.

·   Project involved replacing Remedy with an ITIL based SaaS CRM solution, ServiceNow, for all corporate IT related service and support.

·   Performed all Project Management tasks such as risk assessment and resource availability and alignment; prepared project plan; scheduled project meetings and vendor training; provided status reports and dashboards to key corporate management and stakeholders.

Technical Project Manager, Amgen  Thousand Oaks, CA.  1/2012-6/2012

·               Project involved a substantial CRM/BPR effort to incorporate vendors’ Best Practices in their Training and Certification Department with their Outsourcing Vendor.  Project integrated an Oracle RightNow SaaS CRM application with multiple, custom client-customer facing, Drupal OS (Open Source) portals.  Efforts resulted in a substantial net savings in initial RightNow seat licenses and annual recurring hosting and storage fees.

·                    Developed Project Plan and detailed Budgets;

·                    Managed all client meetings, provided detailed project status reports and dashboards, allocated and tracked project resources;

·   Project received over $4 Million in research funds over a three year period.

·   Design won the HSSL international design competition that involved major naval architecture and defense firms located in the US and Europe.

·   Several, very large, highly instrumented, unmanned prototypes were built and tested in the US and Norway.

·   Duties included all aspects of management, including managing all Company Projects.  Proposal generation, pricing, equipment and software sourcing, hiring, training and managing employees, vendor negotiations, public relations, etc.

·   Company received prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year award in May of 2000 from North Carolina Technology Development Agency (NCTDA).

VP level position in a $40 Million manufacturer of municipal street sweepers and heavy equipment; Reported to President/CEO.

·   Managed a multi-million dollar company-wide Kanban/JIT factory automation project that included selecting and implementing all major ERP (AXIS), 3-D CAD (SDRC Ideas, AutoCAD) and factory automation/robotic welding systems.

·   Project resulted in the adoption of Configure-to-Order sales automation system integrated with a Final Assembly Scheduler. Initiatives reduced WIP from $11 Million to approximately $3 Million in the second year, and reduced product development cycle from 24 months to 6 months.
