Successfully redesigned legacy enterprise application to leverage AWS cloud infrastructure. New

design capitalized on the elasticity and reliability of the cloud to optimize cost, performance, and

reliability. Project was completed three months ahead of schedule and under budget. Heralded

as the benchmark for large scale and complex software development projects. Rapidly trained

and led globally distributed SCRUM team using Agile with team members in India, China,

Philippines, and multiple locations in North America.

Chief Software Engineer, Lexmark, Lexington, KY 2005-2013

Pioneered emerging software technologies and standards to implement global, enterprise

manufacturing execution system. Design utilized C#, SQL Server, web services, .net and several

leading edge software technologies. Project went from requirements discovery to proof of

concept deployment in only six months. System provided unprecedented capabilities to remotely

control complex processes and gather significant statistical data for both quality control and

predictive analytics. Design scaled seamlessly from a few thousand operations per day to well

over a million with no loss in responsiveness. Established and trained engineering teams in both

India and China to augment existing resources and provide around the clock support.

Firmware Team Lead, Lexmark, Lexington, KY 2000-2005

Instrumental in overseeing firmware development for Lexmark’s first internally developed

color laser printer. Interfaced with multiple business areas to insure firmware met design

objectives and remained on schedule. Tracked and managed the resolution of firmware

issues from project inception through start of production.

Executive Consultant, O-I, Perrysburg, OH 1999-2000

Significantly improved O-I, automated, bottle manufacturing system. Designed modular and

reusable embedded controller, light weight RTOS for Seimens C167, and embedded networking

protocols. Invented novel plug-n-play stack allowing failed systems to be dynamically replaced

eliminating the need for human intervention, significantly reducing costly down time, and

increasing safety.

Senior Software Engineer, Dana Corp., Ottawa Lake, MI 1993-1999

Led multi-disciplined engineering team responsible for designing and implementing embedded

applications for the medium duty service vehicle market. “AutoMate 2” won S.A.E. product of

the year in 1995. Successfully transformed service tools from custom and expensive proprietary

hardware to general purpose laptops and computers running advanced software. Received nine

patents for software algorithms over a six year period.
