Tibco Software, 6/2010 – 3/1/2013, Cloud Operations Manager, Palo Alto, CA

 

•        Responsible for all aspects of Tibbr hosting and Operations including installation, deployment, security, monitoring, DBA, System administration, and performance management for Tibbr (www.tibbr.com), the first enterprise social networking built for business.

•        Managed the growth of Tibbr hosting operations from 0 users to 3 million users in less than two years.

•        Provisioined over 1000 Linux and windows server using AWS EC2, S3, CloudWatch, AWS Load Balancer, RDS, and VPC.

•        Develop a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery plan.

•        Create in-house procedures and utilities to manage the data base/hosting environment.

•        Provide sizing and hardware recommendations.

•        Managed to 99.99% uptime.

 

Globalware Solutions, INC., 11/2003 – 6/2010, Independent Oracle DBA Consultant, Redwood City, CA

 

•        Install and maintain Oracle 11g/10g/9i servers for a highly mission critical 24x7 hosting operations.

•        Set up multiple oracle 11g stand-bys.

•        Maintain Sql Server 2005 and 2008 databases.

•        Migrate from Sql Server to Oracle and vice versa.

•        Support production, QA, as well as development environments.

•        Installed and maintained over 100 servers in Amazon Ec2 Cloud.

•        Installed and supported Oracle 11i in a development environment.

•        Built from scratch a secure state of the art data center capable of providing 24x7 mission critical hosting (ASP) for over 100 clients.

•        Perform capacity planning, disaster recovery, security analysis, and other system administrations functions.

•        Use SiteSeer, EcoTools, UniCenter/CA, and RedAlert monitoring tools to monitor data center/Network facilities and Oracle8i/9i databases.

•        Directed the set up of a Server Farm for Focalink Communications capable of handling over 20 million hits (page views) a day. 

•        Built a co-location facility using Exodus and Global Center for Focalink's mission critical servers running in a 24*7 configuration for a worldwide customer use.

•        Set up fail-over data centers in California and New York to do remote data replication

•        Defined and implemented automated monitoring and failure recover mechanisms for the production services. 

•        Established and implemented security policies and break-in monitors and recovery systems.

•        Managed a team of Oracle DBA in setting up a large multi-terabytes database.
