US East Area Data Center Program Manager / Sr. Cloud Architect

Ø       Trained the global data center managers in Asia, Europe, and the US on data center operation best practices and SAS70 governance.

Ø       Managed a $6 Billion annual Capex budget and a $250 Million annual Opex budget in my region.

Ø       Conceived, designed, and built-out 16 colos utilizing a “Colo-in-a-Kit” concept (CIK). The CIK standardized the cable plant material and labor for colos totally 400,000 sq.ft. Partnered with key vendors and reduced costs per collocation by $1million each ($16M savings for 16 total colos).

Ø       Implementing a global risk assessment model, drove SAS70 Type II and ISO27001 certifications for 17 data centers worldwide. Developed and implemented the required training at each data center to self-sustain the certification initiative as part of the modus operandi.

Ø       Hired and coached the staff to manage the data center facility operations of the world’s largest data center in Chicago. A $1B, 1M sq. ft., 120MW facility with capacity for 300,000 servers.

Ø       Managed 5 Regional data centers, with 12 Managers, 38 support staff in the US & Puerto Rico.

Ø       Designed the infrastructure plans and deployed over 40,000 physical servers.
Designed the infrastructure plans and deployed 17,000 Bing.com servers in less than 8 weeks.

Ø       Replaced the electrical feeders in a Microsoft data center that housed 50,000 servers with zero downtime. Optimized the cooling system in the 240,000 sq.ft. facility by removing air dams and eliminating short cycling.
