Reports to the CTO, manages team that designs, implements, and launches Zoot’s cloud

products. Defines and executes the Zoot software roadmap as a key member of the strategic

software planning council. Supervises the day to day activities for the System Architects, Solution

Consultants, IT Training Managers, and UX team. Member of the Information Security Council.

Key Accomplishments:

  · Restored the morale and productivity of an inherited team that was missing their

objectives consistently. Developed a cohesive strategy and collaboratively established

execution plans to achieve our team’s charter. Have consistently met our targets within

the first year.

  · Obtained funding and executive support for defining a UX strategy, staffing a team, and

training based on ROI projections and proposals. In its first six months, the UX team has

identified actionable enhancements to our development tools, assisted with ADA

compliance standards within our solutions, and developed most of our internationalization

requirements for our front-ends.

Reported to the Chief Architect, was responsible for aligning infrastructure and client solutions to

Zoot’s enterprise architecture. Evolved Zoot’s application and data architecture to support clients

increased needs for capacity, performance, scalability, security, extensibility, and compliance.

These initiatives included gaining approvals from the strategic software planning council using

ROI estimates and project plans. Identified, defined, and rolled out technical standards and best

practices. Supported sales and business development opportunities as a technical lead.

Key Accomplishments:

  · Defined and prototyped the new decisioning architecture that is currently being

implemented at Zoot. The new environment will significantly simplify our solutions, while

allowing more extensibility and performance. The prototype utilized Apache, Lua, a

custom language parser, and a new domain language grammar.

  · Defined Zoot’s architectural documentation standards and established a software

analysis process to allow for a judicious investment approach.

  · Directed the launch and maturation of a new integration service Zoot now uses for 90%

of its client and 3rd party service connections. The new integration layer currently includes

HTTP/s, TCP/IP, IBM Websphere, and WS-* protocol adapters.

  · Led the implementations of two large retail credit card origination solutions that forced us

to rethink our software development and deployment strategies for scalability. Zoot is

prepared now to expand our retail client base significantly.

Reported to the VP of Engineering, was responsible for leading fulfillment teams to deliver

complex client solution through the entire SDLC. Worked directly with multiple client units for

integrations, establishing technical requirements, defining interface specifications, and testing.

Trained and mentored new development staff. Member of the Architecture Working Group.

Key Accomplishments:

  · Identified need and led implementation of a new integration service that reduced the

custom systems programming by an order of magnitude per client implementation.

  · Designed and led the implementation at Zoot of an enterprise cross-sell solution for a two

of the largest banks in the country.

  · Key player evolving the load and performance testing processes at Zoot, laying an

essential foundation for handling the retail clients at Zoot today.

  · Leader integrating the legacy core C/C++ services and new Java services that were

introduced into the enterprise. As part of the transition was able to gain experience with

object oriented analysis/design, ORM, workflow patterns, WS-* protocols, design patterns

and agile methodologies.

systems programmer

Reported to the Systems Programming Manager, was responsible for estimates, design,

development, and testing of software components in credit decisioning and loan origination

systems. Primarily network and procedural programming, using C/C++ and Perl, in an established

Linux based distributed system ASP architecture. Additionally wrote MSSQL stored procedures,

XSLT, XPath, and Expect to implement solutions.

Key Accomplishments:

  · Client facing technical lead and primary developer for a real-time auto-finance solution

used by a top 5 financial institution in the US.

  · Primary system developer and technical lead for a customer on-board decisioning

solution still used by one of the largest on-line buy now pay later service providers.

  · Enhanced core Zoot services and library suites.
