Engineering Draftsman

U.S. Air Force - Enlisted: Active Duty

 

·         Performed drafting duties for three years at Andrews Air Force Base, MD for the Civil Engineering Squadron. Utilized architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings to assist engineers in construction projects for the US government.

 

·         Ensured proper storage, organization, and maintenance of hard copy blueprints, as-builts and electronic records of US Air Force property assets valued at $3.4 billion, covering 4300 acres, 2000 facilities, and 1200mi. of utilities.

 

·         Drafting/surveying team lead while deployed to overseas hostile area; expedient tasks completion ensured mission success.

 

·         Designed renovation floor plan for $1.8 Million project using AutoCAD software. Plans allowed the US government to transfer building to Iraqi government and transform building into Special Operations Command, which enhanced safety and stability in the area.

 

·         Facilitated expansion of United Nations diplomatic compound for 130 personnel using AutoCAD and GPS surveying. Ensured safe diplomatic zone inside hostile area in preparation for US drawdown upon end of the War in Iraq.

 

·         Led team consisting of over 45 Iraqi Nationals and 4 military members in physical placement of 37 containerized housing units after obtaining command approval of siting plan designed utilizing AutoCAD.

 

·         Instrumental team player while meeting short notice drafting and surveying needs with expedient turnaround time ensuring mission needs were met; saved time and money.

Project Manager

U.S. Air Force - Enlisted: Active Duty

 

·         Function as government representative and provide oversight for $90 Million/5 year Air Force SABER (Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements) contract. Continually perform quality assurance for multiple projects under annual Operation & Management program.

 

·         Design construction projects and write project statements of work, including highly detailed initial government estimates on behalf of the customer. After receiving contractor proposal evaluate and then negotiate to maximize cost effectiveness prior to award of individual projects. Once awarded, direct administrative and daily aspects of projects from initiation to closeout.

 

·         Capable of taking the initiative on projects with minimal guidance or oversight; obtained on-going project from co-worker and individually discovered over $68,000 in overlooked costs. Resulted in return of funds on project.

 

·         Highly adaptive and motivated employee who will not stop until work is complete. Traits were crucial to being chosen to assume a higher level of responsibility and progress to the position of Construction Project Manager.

·         Graduated US Air Force Basic Military Training October 9, 2009 and received AF Honor Graduate Ribbon. Top Honor Graduate award was also received as highest achieving member of an 800 person graduating class.
