Manual of Operation, Maintenance and Surveillance (OMS) for the Tailings Storage Facility, in accordance with the guidelines of the Mining Association of Canada. Responsible for the chapter on Environmental regulations, proofreading the English version and reviewing the corresponding Spanish translation.

-        Augusta Resource, Rosemont Copper Mine, Arizona.

-        Proofreading of company Total Quality Plan.

-        Review of Mexican regulations applicable to environmental requirements for mine projects to make sure operations within the legal regulating framework. Review of environmental impact assessments submitted to Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT).

-       City of Tucson Feasibility study to transform and remodel psychiatric hospital and dorms of approximately 50,000 sq. ft. into office spaces and a high school for 400 students. Revision of the Uniform Building Code (UBC), Land Use Code, as well as Development Standards.

-       Design of the new spaces of cafeteria, classrooms, rest rooms, and computer labs. Design using AutoCad 2000 of the new parking lot for about 90 cars including drop off areas. Schematic design of future facilities such as gymnasium, amphitheater, sport fields and recreational areas.

 

·               Sedesol, Urban Development Division (Mexico City), Technical Advisor. 1993-1995

 

-       Assistant to the director in computerized information systems for urban applications within the framework to digitize the urban development plans for the Hundred Cities Program. Acted as liaison between the Urban Development Division and the Cartographic Department.

-       Research done in 12 key provinces on the type of GIS used by state and city planning agencies for planning and land administration purposes.

 

·              Euroconsult/ Mott MacDonald (The Netherlands), Proposal Technical Writer. 1985-1993

 

-       Lisboa, Portugal - Proposal under joint venture with ESAGRI, Portuguese engineering company, for the Land Resettlement Project in the San Pedro Caaguazú region in Paraguay. This proposal was submitted to the European Commission and it was successfully awarded.

 

-       Bolivia - Coordination of activities with a Bolivian partner company to edit and submit a prequalification bid for land registry systems for the main cities of the country. This project was financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, and evaluated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Project Office.

-       Bolivia - Participating in a land registry project for the city of La Paz as planning specialist. The project included the design and implementation of an effective and fair tax collection system. Additio­nal assistance was given to other mission members in simultaneous interpretation and report editing.

 

-       Costa Rica - Joint venture with ILIS and KLM Aerocarto to prepare two proposals: a Multipurpose Cadastral System and a Photogrammetric First Order Network, an interna­­tional tender for surveying a first order photogrammetric network, and a proposal for a satellite global positioning system. Both proposals were part of a multi-purpose nationwide land registry project.

 

-       Dominican Republic - Responsible for editing the final report on the rehabilitation of the Barahona Sugar Estate. The project was financed by the World Bank and included a feasibility study, the design of irrigation works, and the preparation of tender documents. In charge of recruiting personnel, training on the spot, supervision and coordination of local and foreign staff.

 

·              Office of Environmental Issues (Hermosillo, Sonora), Planner Architect, 1981-1983

 

-       Member of the advisory team in ecological issues. Participated in design proces­ses for the Sonoran Desert Ecological Center (SDEC). Carried out aerial photo interpretation analysis to find the most suitable location.
