Class of 2016
May 2015 – Present
LEAD CAD DRAFTER & GIS MAPPING ASSISTANT
• Supports UCSD's Environment, Health, and Safety Dept. with highly detailed technical drawings
used for field work, research, and emergency responses.
• Utilizes AutoCAD to generate and update floor plans of all 772 campus facilities in accordance
with specification, accuracy, and production requirements.
• Performs field inspections of newly constructed buildings, in collaboration with the construction
management teams, to evaluate conditions and compile data into a report.
• Creates and maintains system level Visio drawings detailing hazardous materials by utilizing
various sources, including site survey data, equipment lists, and construction input.
• Geographically maps oilfilled equipments for spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan
using ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Online).
• Certifies emergency safety using SOPs in compliance with OSHA and manages an archive of past
inspection records.
• Expedites the project management of business plans to meet occupational safety guidelines and
environmental protection and ensured submissions for projects were completed on time.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Structural and Materials Laboratory | Robotic Crane Competition
March 2015 – June 2015
• Worked with a team of 10 to design and build a model of a robotic crane to be tested for its
stiffness and mechanical performance.
• Responsible for designing the mechanical system and drafting the ROBO Pro program in order to
generate the functionality of the robotic crane.
• Utilized SAP2000 and SolidWorks to estimate structural performance under given loads.
• Contribution to the project helped guide the team to win first place out of a total of 16 teams for
designing the most costefficient model.
Engineering Graphics & CAD Structural Design | Drawbridge Design Jan. 2015 – March 2015
• The objective was to design a fullsized reinforced concrete bridge column to meet a set of
seismic criteria. A scaled down model was constructed and tested to meet all requirements.
• Moreover, the drawbridge was integrated with a dynamic program, by using ROBO Pro, to
perform simple bridge operations.
• Gained knowledge of engineering graphics, solid modeling, CAD applications including 2D and
3D transformations, 3D viewing, and designing wireframe and solid models.
EXTRACURRICULAR
Society of Women Engineers | Activities Officer
June 2013 – June 2014
• Worked with a team of 9 board members to coordinate yearly events dealing with mentoring,
aiding, and expanding the community of women engineers on campus.
• Developed leadership skills by setting up social events to enhance and strengthen relationships of
the organization and its members.
Steel Bridge, Society of Civil & Structural Engineers | Financial Lead
June 2013 – June 2014
• Developed relationships and communication with over 100 engineering companies to ensure
appropriate services for the project.
• Performed work involving basic financial accounting and maintaining financial and statistical
records.
• Planned fundraising events to reach goal of acquiring at least $4,000 to commission the
fabrication and construction of a scaled steel bridge for a future competition.
