hours, (2001-2002) Volunteer at Christ Church of the Valley- (Presently-January
2007). Presently, I am volunteering in the junior high, where I greet new 8th graders and usually their parents and help them to check in and find
a coach for the service. I previously, I served for four years,
volunteering in the 6th grade room
on Saturday nights at the 6:oo p.m. service. I taught a small group of
6th graders bible study, keeping them safe and
entertaining them with a game or activity. Prior to that, for three years, I
volunteered in the 4th and 5th grade room leading small groups as well. For a year prior to that I
volunteered in the 2nd and 3rd grade room dealing with parents dropping off children, updating
information in the computer system, answering questions they may have,
cleaning the back room, stocking supplies for the volunteers and coaches, and
taking stats on the children and volunteers. My husband and I also
hosted and he co-leads a small group of adults in our home/neighbors home
since January 2007. Peoria Unified School District- (May
2012-August 2004). District wide substitute for pre-school through 8th grade. Primary responsibilities are for the safety and the
supervision of each child while I am presenting and teaching a variety of
materials to the class. This job requires multi-tasking on a high level
throughout the day in the classroom and on the playground. Dealing with
difficult children, behavior problems, learning disabilities, language
barriers, and emotional behaviors on a daily basis mixed in with
well-adjusted intelligent children who are ready to learn and be
productive. Developing that fine medium between these diverse groups in
a new classroom several days a week is a huge challenge I have come to enjoy. NorthWest Christian School- (August
2008- May 2011). Substitute teacher for 1st grade thru 6th grade. Volunteered at City of Peoria Fire Department- (December
2009 - February 2008). Reviewed all plans coming in to Fire Department
for construction and remodeling which included checking plans against city
and federal fire codes for placement of hydrants, water lines, fire
sprinklers, fire detectors, and the right of way measurements, etc.
(1,300+ hours). Naturally Women’s Fitness Center- (August
2005-October 2003) Administrative Assistant. As a part time employee I
was primarily responsible for the meeting and greeting each member as they
came in. Directing them according to their needs for that day.
Responsibilities included operating the cash register and balancing the money
on a daily basis, marketing and sales of merchandise and services as well as
memberships. I was responsible for the imputing and updating the
personal records of all the members, scheduling appointments for tanning,
massage, personal training and a wide variety of ancillary spa
services. Preparation of brochures and fliers that were distributed to
the public, as well as general office work which included; fix and repair the
copier, file contracts, answer multi phone lines, taking messages, cleaning
equipment, recording stats for the management, and providing tours of the
facility. Volunteer at Crosspoint Christian Church- (October
2006-March 2004). I managed and ran the every day operations of the
audiotape and cd ministry at the church. The responsibilities included
greeting everyone that came to our church that week, purchasing all the
supplies needed to run the ministry, handling money from the sales of the
cd’s/tapes, the creations of all the art work on each cd and tape, as well as
the duplication of all the audio cd’s needed for the church and it’s members. Child Care Out of Our Home- (August
2005-May 2000). I was responsible for the care of eight children from the
ages of newborn to 8 years old 5 days a week. The time frame was
usually 11-12 hour a day which consisted of keeping everyone safe,
entertaining, feeding, socializing, and bathroom training. City of Surprise- (March
2000-March 1997). City Map Maker and Planning Assistant. Original
position was a Planning Assistant in a part time capacity in the Planning and
Zoning Department. Responsibilities included administrative duties
consisting of answering multi phone lines, scheduling appointments, filing,
assisting citizens and developers at the front counters. The primary
responsibilities consisted of city planner duties, which included reviewing
plans from developers, policies, researching for the city staff. GIS
Specialist January 1998. Responsible for the creation of the city’s
Mapping Department. Sole responsibilities, as the city mapmaker was to
prepare proposals for the city counsel presentation on multi-million dollar
contracts for the city maps. Coordination and administration of meeting
pertaining to the mapping department, as well as the budget of the department,
ordering equipment, training of employees on the system, and the production
of all the city maps for the police and fire departments and other
departments on a needed basis. Responsibilities also included the
creation of a portion of the plans and the review of several projects that
were city initiated. Clouse Engineering- (December
1996-June 1992). Engineering Assistant and Drafter.
Responsibilities included copying and delivering plans to the cities and
engineering firms throughout the Maricopa County. Promoted to Drafter
in October, 1992, and was responsible for creating and updating, copying and
filing civil engineering plans for presentations to cities for the
development of new subdivisions. The plans consisted of water, sewer,
paving, grading and drainage, and plot plans. |
