PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Infrastructure Engineers (IE) - from 01/2015 to present

Associate Engineer responsible for supporting the Civil Engineer department with the Capital Improvement Projects using Civil 3D.

        Road Improvements along Los Flores Boulevard, Linden Street, Virginia Avenue and Elmwood Street in the City of Lynwood, CA. Improvements included new curb and gutter, replacement of sidewalk, driveway reconstruction and new ADA ramps. I was the engineer responsible of preparing plan and profile sheets, typical sections, cross sections and pavement markings using Civil 3D. Along with prepareing cost estimates and assist in the coordination of the Community Meetings for the city.

        Road Improvements along Redwood Street in the city of Montebello, CA. Engineer responsible of preparing the plan improvement sheets, cost estimate and assist in the preparation of the specifications for the city.

Public Works Department– City of Lancaster, California (Internship) from 10/2013 to 02/2014
Autocad Drafter Technician responsible to help the Traffic Engineering Department to update their Traffic Control and Pavement Markings plans to include new bicycle lanes along some existing roads in the City of Lancaster using Civil 3D.

Project Engineer

        Responsible for take-off quantities, quantity revisions and earthwork calculations for the I-595 Express Lanes project in Broward County, Florida for “Ranger Construction Industries”.

        Responsible for developing roadway geometric improvements, intersection analysis using “Autorun” and construction cost estimates along “Old Cutler Road and NW 36th Street in Miami-Dade County. This project was part of a Congestion Management Process Strategies conducted by the Metropolitan Planning Organization in Miami-Dade County.

Gannett Fleming, Miami, Florida from 01/ 2002 to 01/ 2010 
Assistant Project Engineer responsible for supporting the Roadway Department with highway/rail design projects, preparation of project development and environmental studies and proposals. 

        Assistant Track Engineer – Assistant Track Engineer for the South Florida East Coast Corridor (SFECC) Alternative Analysis Study. The 85-mile corridor is centered along the existing Florida East Coast Railway from the Government Center in downtown Miami to Indiantown Road in Palm Beach, Fl. It consists of 264 grade crossings with 17 waterway crossing and 64 proposed station stops. Responsibilities included the development of vertical and horizontal alignment and speed curve evaluation. Develop track typical sections, station site layouts including separate station tracks. Prepare right-of-way inventory and investigations using GIS, Microstation and Aerial Photographs and the preparation of the plan and profile sheets for the entire corridor using Inroad-Track.

        Assistant Track engineer – Assistant track engineer for the Miami Streetcar Alternative Analysis” project in Miami, FL,City of Miami. Engineer responsible for assisting with the development of an alternatives analysis study for a proposed streetcar service from downtown Miami to redeveloping areas.  The study included identifying the purpose and need, developing proposed alignment alternatives, and creating plan sheets.  A public involvement process assisted in the identification of a locally preferred alternative.  The project involved coordinating work efforts with the City and the Florida Department of Transportation, both of which are funding agencies.

        Assistant Project Engineer – Project Engineer responsible for the preparation of scoping reports.  The scoping report included the documentation of all existing physical features, data on existing structures, design controls and standards, safety analysis and related recommendations. Responsible for the Engineering Report, roadway alternatives, project layout, potential design exceptions/variations and cost estimates for the proposed recommendations.

        Assistant Project Engineer for PD&E’s and 3R Reports - Responsibilities included developing alternatives, including analyzing alternate corridors and investigating special at-grade treatments and/or additional lanes, responsible for documenting all existing conditions.  Responsible for the variance and exception packages and project plans.

HNTB Corporation(Miami, Florida) from 06/ 1994 to 01/ 2002

Engineer II responsible for supporting the Roadway Department with highway design projects, preparation of project development and environmental studies and proposals. 

                     Engineer responsible for the production of highway plans, including vertical and horizontal alignment, cross sections and typical sections for the I-95 (S.R. 9) High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane Widening and Reconstruction project in Boynton Beach, FL for the Florida Department of Transportation.

                     Engineer responsible for the preparation of different roadway alternatives, access management analysis, engineering reports and cost estimates for the Project Development and Environmental Studies for the Florida Department of Transportation.

        Engineer responsible for post design services for the S.R.826/Palmetto Expressway project in Miami-Dade-County for the Florida Department of Transportation.

        Engineer responsible for the design of turn lanes for all intersections, creation of plans and profiles sheets, typical sections, production of final plans, and the preparation of cost estimates for NW 87th Avenue Design Project in Miami, FL, Miami-Dade County Public Works Department. This project consisted of widening two existing lanes to four lanes between NW 138th Street and NW 151st Street.
