Position: Supervisor, Visual Information (VI) Support, Training Support Activity-Southwest Asia (TSA-SWA)

              US Army Training Support Center, Camps Doha, Arifjan, Buehring.

Duties:

1.)     Supervision of all Graphics Section, Photo Lab Section, Videography Section employees, as well as Carpentry and Painters’ Sections that were involved in training support. This activity is one of the highest volume Visual Information (VI) activities in the Army system. Our organization supported US Combat Service Units from the Horn of Africa up through Afghanistan (CENTCOM AOR).

2.)     Maintained positive control of Government/Contractor Provided Equipment (GFE) in excess of $1M.

3.)     Ordered, maintained and controlled production supplies, shop stock and equipment within the activity with inventories in excess of $1M and ensured the availability of those supplies through usage tracking and ordering procedure modifications when necessary. I was heavily involved in budget forecasting requirements for both equipment and production supplies.

4.)     Maintained and strove to bolster positive customer satisfaction and positive customer relationships with the Army Training Support Center.

5.)     Wrote internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & developed flow charts and attachments.

6.)     Made recommendations and pushed for hardware and software upgrades to maximize output.

7.)     Performed monthly internal audits for selected activities within the department in preparation for internal & external QC audits in order to maintain ISO 9002 Quality System Certification.

8.)     Ensured all documentation (i.e. DA Forms) were accurate and complete.

9.)     Ensured all CDRL items were met or exceeded in a timely fashion for all areas under watch.

15.)     Acted as unit Information Management Officer (IMO) ensuring that over 40 computers and networked systems within the unit remained IAVA compliant by adding prescribed software patches or upgrades. Noncompliance of a single computer could remove a whole section of computers from the USG NIPR network thereby bringing production within the section to a halt.

17.)     Wrote performance appraisals for employees under my supervision and strove to maintain morale under a very challenging set of circumstances.

18.)     Performed videography/editing, photography, graphics design, and audiovisual production in support of USG and Training Support Center customers’ requirements. Production typically included shooting of video, adding audio and combining the elements to create training packages for the customer.

19.)     Involved in the design and layout and construction in the creation of Training Aids for the US Army Training Support Center. This included detailed mockups of items such as the crew compartment of UH-60 helicopters for use in training missions.

Duties: Same as listed in the preceding period with additional coordination duties working with ARCENT S3, other CSA CISO coordinators in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during the build-up and execution of Operations Desert Fox, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Acted as Multimedia graphics designer in the creation of briefings and multimedia presentations for project management and the US Army as the need arose.

Reason for Leaving: CSSC-K Contract awarded to Combat Support Associates/CSA, Ltd.

Duties:

1.)     Created a wide variety of drawings including plans, maps, facilities layouts, diagrams, artwork and briefing packages in support of project and corporate requirements.

2.)    Initiated a mutual support effort between the US Army Directorate of Public Works and ITT for the sharing of equipment and labor and information. This eventually led to a contract modification for DPW Technical Support Services that included CAD work and cooperation on GIS development for the ARCENT-KU DPW and the US Army Corps of Engineers.

3.)  Performed Operations Coordinator duties supporting the Reception, Staging, Onward-movement & Integration (RSOI) of units deployed to Kuwait for the defense of Kuwait from Iraqi aggression and the ongoing training of US military units deployed to the region in support of that effort.

4.)    Acted as Information Management Officer (IMO) with duties ranging from local customer assistance for computer hardware/software problems to ensuring compliance with Information Assurance (IA) requirements mandated by the USG which were coming to the forefront during this period of time for all networked systems.

5.)    Was granted and maintained a Secret security clearance for the duration of the contract.

6.)    Designed and produced project signage for various activities within the scope of the contact.

ITT Federal Services Corporation – Vandenberg AFB, CA.  Western Range Contract

Position: Engineering (CAD) Drafter

Reason for leaving: Accepted position w/ ITT for contract stand-up in Kuwait

Duties:

1.)                             Created, and revised a wide variety engineering drawing packages per ANSI/MILSPEC standards utilizing AF red-line procedures supporting the USAF/30th Space Wing and the Western Range.

2.)               Digitized and redrew thousands of hand drafted packages for inclusion to a digital database in support of the DDIS (Digital Documentation Integration System) initiative mandated by the USG.

3.)               Served as a primary member of a small team formed to test and implement the migration of existing digital engineering drawings from a dedicated mini-computer tape based operation to PC/Network based environment utilizing AutoCAD and DEC NET.

4.)               Interacted closely with ENG, CM, QA/QC and Document Control elements to ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of Engineering Data Services per CDRLs to the USG.
