Objective and Summary

Obtain a position as a CAD Drafter Designer within a company that encourages growth through continued job training

and increased responsibilities. I can offer my five years work experience in the related industry, while incorporating my

education in Drafting and Design. I have been recognized for persevering in difficult assignments, demonstrating an

Materials and Processes

Review a given project’s scope of work to

determine all needed relevant information,

site measures, pictures, sketches, building

materials and notes. Transfer technical and

verbal information clearly to working drawings.

Maintain communication at all stages of a given

projects timeline with everyone involved

regarding the design process. Tracking progress,

permit submittals, and possible revisions.

Drafting/CAD Methods:

Working with new CAD files with standard drawing setup, or

existing files, and sheet sets with the company’s standards tools

and blocks already setup saving time and plans consistency.

Managing a standard drawing set up with assigned layers, model

and viewport scales, blocks and sheet sets in addition to other

basic components that give structure to AutoCAD files.

Building and maintaining an organized drawing file structure

along with assigning project names and job numbers to all

relevant information. Saving time when utilizing and following

projects setup process when receiving ongoing updates for CAD

file backgrounds, which may affect pervious drawings. Taking

in account Xrefs files and inherited properties associated to

other drawings any changes will change as well. Including

drawings that need additional files attached or overlayed,

reloaded, repath or detached, differing from drawing to drawing.

Utilizing a company’s drafting standards when designing, to

envision the best methods to archive quality plan sets. Creating a

drawing that shows only needed information and removing or

turning off the unneeded. For instance distinguishing areas of

work and current conditions, following the contracted work

simultaneously incorporating as-built plan information. Since

complex drawings may show demo, relocated, existing and new

contracted work all on one sheet. Utilizing layer states for

equipments placement, tags, numbering, and correct symbols.

Draft 3-D drawings using isometric views, ideally using

multiple monitors to ensure drawing are accurate and plot as

desire. Maintain an up to date knowledge of building design

codes for accurate Title 24 information. Used drawing details.

Common practice for publishing drawing sets, creation of record

set hard copies and eTransmital as requested.



• Using AutoCAD to design and draft full plan sets for Photovoltaic Systems in compliance with City/County

Codes and Title 24. While meeting contact solar energy production guarantees. Incorporating all client requests to

design a visual autistics and efficient PV System.

• Onsite shade analysis using a Solmetic SunEye, then importing the SunEye data to a computer for review and

export. This shade report is used in design for solar panel placement and array configurations.

• Support sales team with preliminary drawings and Bill of Materials list for an accurate cost and time estimation.

• Satellite and onsite roof measurements for accurate roof areas and PV Array layout. Take in account roof

obstructions, roof framing, shingle type, and City guidelines for panel setbacks.

• Analyzing all known site components needed for every project. Account for the main utility rating, while

accounting for the additional PV System energy output and required OCPD rating and available open breaker

space or Sub-Panel.

• Practice continued study to stay current with new and changing codes Title 24, NEC, CEC and CBC. Emphasizing

on City/County codes for solar electric systems mainly in correspondence with Cal Fire, article 690, 790 and any

that apply.

ACCO Engineered Systems San Leandro, CA

CAD Drafter/Operator Contract work, Jul, 2012 to Sep, 2012

• Drafting HVAC and Piping plans for large scale commercial projects, for well known established companies.

• Maintaining company drafting standards to accurately and distinctly show contacted work from existing CAD file

background information. Managing changes and updates to files in current use sent from architects and other

contractors.

• Creating plans showing contrast from As-Built and contracted work conditions, in correspondence with

demolition, relocated, existing and new conditions for HVAC and Plumbing construction per projects scope of

work.

• Take verbal and written instructions from engineers and project managers for needed direction and revisions. For

successful creation high quality and complete final plan set.

Drafter 2010 – 2011

• Draft structural and architectural drawings for remodels, new additions, structural retrofitting and fire/water

restorations.

• Take onsite measurements while incorporating site pictures of current and earlier site conditions. Stay in contact

with contractors to include written and verbal information.

• Incorporating architect proposed drawing with existing As-Built plans for an accurate working plan set.

needed stages and any plan revisions.
