·         1993-1996, SME Outside Plant Manager, in which time I contributed as a member of the core construction team in OSP methods and procedures, including the deployment and installation of several international AT&T projects including, Egypt (existing network, repair and restoration manager), Guatemala and Ecuador, provided training to host country national telecom engineers, in the use of Micro Systems MS-100 field interface test and records verification system and DaVar test and record verification system. Saudi Arabia, performed fiber route surveys for scheduled AT&T TEP-6 fiber expansion project throughout the Kingdom. Manila, Philippines performed as outside plant construction and splicing manager, building entire underground network from central office to last mile customers. Including the stock exchange located in Makati, Manila for Global Telecom (Singapore).

 

Able Telecom Inc.

 

·         1992-1993, Caracas Venezuela, held position of Area installation and maintenance, cable repair splicing Manager, for G.T.E., CANTV, supervising up to 45 technicians in the Prado Del Este serving area of Caracas. Managed time sheets and verified correct reporting of hours charged. Responsible for dispatching crews to various locations based on priority trouble reports issued by CANTV, single pair troubles, bad section replacement and wet splice locations. Trained local CANTV OSP repair technicians in use of current installation methodologies regarding newly introduced materials and closures/terminals for field deployment. My daily work included Spanish/English translator and bodyguard.

 

 

 

 

Butler Telecommunications Inc.

 

·         1991-1992, Mexico City and Toluca Mexico, held title of Central Office cut-over splicing, Manager AT&T/TELMEX working with 30 host country national contract splicers and ex-patriot splicers, performing central office switch conversions. Responsible for cable vault tip cable splice locations and configuration, cut over sequence in order to facilitate a well, organized end result. Set up of splice openings and tip cable splicing counts due to Mexican 10 pair configuration cable being spliced to 25 pair American pair configuration tip cables. Responsible for scheduling of crews as cut over schedule ran 24 hours 7 days per week. Maintained and verified time sheets for all cut over crews, including status reporting to Central Office Managers responsible for cut over dates to AT&T.

 

Atlantic Telecom Inc.

 

·         1990-1991, Georgetown Guyana South America for GT&T as a training supervisor, training local technicians in outside plant copper splicing (Modular), color code counting up to 3600 pair cables, encapsulated closure installation and defective pair recovery, splicers error identification and corrective actions (split pairs, transposed, stacked pairs, opens) utilizing Dynatel test equipment.

 

Burnup & Sims Inc.

·         1988-1990, Became Splicing Supervisor for Burnup and Sims Inc. while working hurricane Hugo storm restoration in the U.S. Virgin Islands for VITELCO. Responsibilities included dispatching cable repair technicians to priority trouble locations to maximize cleared trouble reports, performed cable repair techniques instruction to junior technicians. Trained local technicians in installation of newly introduced weather resistant building terminals and modular splicing techniques.

 

1978-1987, I began working for General Telephone Company in Baytown, Texas and Saint Petersburg, Florida as a construction copper cable splicer, received additional cable repair and cable conformance acceptance training, conducted testing for load coil spacing, build out capacitor values, noise measurement test rehabilitation and defective pair recovery, performing daily cable trouble orders.
