Experience:

 

2013 to Present              Senior FTTH Consultant and Coordinator, Mastec, Colombia.

 

Provide consulting services for the construction department of the ETB telephone company in Bogota Colombia in all aspects of deploying an FTTH network. Including, manual, procedures, equipment selection, field personal support, training and interact with middle and high level management. Also, manage ten engineers in the day to day activities.

 

 

 

2010 to 2013              Senior OSP Engineer Level II for FTTP & BAU Operations.

 

Perform planning, engineering and design tasks for FTTP and BAU projects (Copper and Fiber), using Visio, Micro Station, ICGS and IDDS software for Verizon. Project management. Interact with construction and splicing crews on the field and provide support from the office. QC work from outside vendors before it is send to construction. Assist team members and outside vendors on the use of IDDS and ICGS software and FTTP/BAU procedures.

 

 

 

2008 to 2010              Field Manager for FTTP Operations, Kenton Group

             

                           Manage all company operations in the northeast of the United States, including liaison between the company and its clients. Oversee the day to day office operations, including supervision of the planning, design, engineering, and drafting teams for Verizon’s FTTP projects in northern Virginia. Use of Verizon’s software such as ICGS, IDDS, VBuild, BDMS Autotcad and others.   

 

 

 

2005 to 2008              Senior OSP Engineer for FTTP Operations.

 

Perform planning, engineering and design tasks for FTTP projects, using Visio, Micro Station WPG, ICGS and IDDS software in the state of New Jersey for Verizon. Project management and updating of data using BDMS software. Interact with construction and splicing crews on the field and provide support from the office. 2004 to 2005              Group Leader for FTTP Operations, RJE Telecom

 

Perform engineering and design tasks for FTTP projects, using CAD software, in the state of Maryland for Verizon.  Allocate and review the project assignments for team members. Monitor project statuses and progress in order to assure that the finished projects were delivered on time. Coordinate and conduct visits to the field to verify that the project notes provided by the client were correct, and to corroborate the conditions of the field.  Organize the work and resolution of situations that might arise with any of the agencies involved with the project. Assist team members on the use of CAD software and FTTP procedures in order to facilitate the completion of the projects.

 

2001 to 2004               Senior OSP Engineer, Frontier Corp.

 

Responsible of budget, planning, design, estimate, and inspect aerial, underground and buried cable networks (copper and fiber), digital loop carriers, trunking and digital services including DSL, T-1 and fiber networks such as OC-1 to OC-48. Proficient in the use of Autocad, Cadtel, Mapcom, OSPFM, and Visio.

 

2000 to 2001                             Engineering Manager, ASCI NT

 

Management of 156 miles of conduit and fiber project. Identify, recruit and manage company and contract resources. Field trouble management and resolution. Survey potential cable routes and prepare maps and diagrams for planning and construction. Oversee right of way procurement. Establish interdepartmental networking for the smooth flow of information and coordination through the company and contract services. Top management interaction and reporting. Coordinate acquisitions of permits, licenses and other documentation as required. Estimate material, installation and engineering labor costs for budgetary analysis.

Design of digital services such as ISDN, DDS, HDSL, ADSL, DS1, DS3 and others. OSP design of copper and fiber cables for local, DLC, SONET and trunk services. Manhole and conduit run engineering. Budget preparation and management. Coordination and communication with different company departments, carriers, utilities companies and clients, as needed. Full use and understanding of the computer systems available in the company to optimize work. 1997 to 1998                            Project Manager, International Construction Consultants

 

              Management and supervision of aerial, underground and buried OSP project, including copper and fiber optics for local telephone distribution and trunk cables using Bell and REA specifications.  LAN wiring design, estimating and construction supervision, using Ethernet and Token Ring topologies.  OSP design, evaluation and fieldwork.  Proposal and bid English to Spanish when necessary.  Contract negotiation and implementation.

 

 

1988 to 1997                            General Manager, Opticom, Inc.              (Telecommunications).

 

Oversee of day to day operations, including supervision of the division managers of sales and marketing, human resources, operations, engineering, construction and installation. Provided business and market analysis, new business development and follow-up of existing ones.   Proposal preparation and presentation. Contract negotiation and implementation. In addition, products for voice & data, PABX, telecommunication equipment and cables were marketed. These projects were perform for telephone companies, government agencies and private sector including Fortune 500 companies located through the US, Caribbean and Latin AmericCaribbean and Latin America.

Education:              University of Puerto Rico, four years college degree in Social Science, Major in Anthropology and minors in Natural Science and Computer Operations.
