About Thomas:

Thomas is a Fiber Construction Specialist with over thirty years experience in telecommunications construction.  His fiber experience dates back to 1987 and has continued through to this day. He is a member of the original 2004 Verizon OSP Fiber Optic Construction team that successfully deployed Fiber-To-The-Premise in Keller, TX later known as Verizon FiOS^®. Thomas continued building and supporting OSP infrastructure for Verizon FiOS^® in Outside plant positions from field operations to headquarters staff. His work included placing and splicing oversight, quality control, procedural specifications, new product review, and most recently MDU/MTU/SBU construction oversight.

Thomas is well suited to interact with today’s OSP Engineering groups and clients assessing and presenting workable FTTX solutions. Travel, location(s), and contract periods are negotiable.

Recent Highlights outside of daily duties

 

       Leadership/ Innovation

·               Sought and managed a first office application (FOA) field trial for the “TE Mini-IFDT with MPOC connectors and IFDH” in an MDU environment.  This trial successfully demonstrated a way to eliminated all F2 splicing.

·               Sought and managed the first Texas deployment of 3M Mechanical connectors.  This project eventually enabled Operations managers to cut costs and response times associated with connector damages as well as provide a tested alternative to aging splicing equipment.

·               Consultant for (TX) Contract labor pricing.

·               Consultant for next gen MDU Terminal Design.

       Efficiencies/Directives

·               Developed local practices for S1 Cabinet Installations, S1 Cabinet Splicing, Exterior Wall Penetrations,  Pre-Connect Labeling,  Ring-Run Directive,  Terminal Configuration

       Quality controls

·               Developed 38 point MTU/MDU quality check
