Responsibilities

 

Ø      Responds to emergency and non-emergency repair calls regarding all aspects of the city’s OSP fiber optic network on Rooftop, GSM Greenfield, Exchange site. Performs construction, splicing, distribution changes of the OSP fiber optic cables and installs ONT units at site Performs tests on the OSP network at the site to troubleshoot problems. Makes necessary repairs on the OSP, ONT,Splitter,ODF,MDU facilities at the site  Once problem is identified. Assures network is functioning properly before leaving  site. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt. PAT inspector MDU, Commissioning Testing.

                                         

 

Ø      Perform basic electrical work, wiring, and troubleshooting data communication connectivity, Ensure new installs and routine maintenance deadlines are met. Be able to diagnose and offer repair instructions remotely, as well as in person. Plan and manage maintenance routines/schedules, Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair out product line. Install/troubleshoot networked computers within an organization. Troubleshooting calls and e-mails from users of the network. Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, assignments and service reports. Effectively communicate with customers and subcontractors in the field, Effectively prioritize, plan and manage time. The individual may be required to testify in a court of law that the equipment was properly set up and tested, and that the results of the tests were accurately recorded.

Job Description:

 

Ø      Transmits narrow and broadband signals to orbital satellites. This is a small telecommunication earth station that receives and transmits real-time data via Satellite. It acts as the hub for the systems to receive signals. It also used for transportable, on-the-move communications (using phased array antennas) and mobile maritime communications.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Ø      Maintaining and Troubleshooting VSAT equipment. Configuring installed equipment such as 3G wireless antenna. Daily monitoring of transmission and reception of signals to ensure integrity. Data collection, report generation and archiving in order to analyse long-term needs such as growth projections and reconfigurations.

Those who work at the central office or switching hubs usually require the most technical expertise, directing and routing broadband information to their destination and troubleshooting central problems. Daily duties for broadband installation technicians include: On-site installations, Correction and repair of clients' broadband service, Equipment troubleshooting, Customer service and education, Detailed record keeping.

Ø      As a driver, one of the most basic driving skills you can acquire is a good attitude towards other drivers.  It is important to remember that you are in control of the car that could potentially be a lethal weapon.  Stay positive and do not become stressed out at other drivers and their bad road manners.  Staying patient is the key to any basic driving skills.

 

Ø      Keep a constant watch on your surroundings and be aware of people and vehicles around you at all times. Check your mirrors frequently, and always check your blind spots by looking over your shoulder before making turns and lane changes.  Knowing what is going on behind you is often overlooked, but it is extremely important to know whether cars behind you are too close, too fast or trying to overtake.

 

Ø      Remember that you share the road with others. Trucks, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians all call for your attention and courtesy on the road. It is important to remember that other vehicles have different needs. For example, trucks need extra stopping room and wider turning lanes; buses need to enter traffic from stopping lanes; and when passing cyclists in narrow lanes, they should be given the full width.
