Supporting the Military in (OEF) Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan/Kuwait.

Duties consist of, pulling, testing, toning, labeling, of the inside and outside plant wiring, to include fiber optic cables, Single and Multi-mode. Direct fusion, Hot Melt and Unicam connectors. CAT 6E, copper cables ranging from 12pair & up. Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures. Building patch panels, and mounting 66 & 110 blocks for demark location in communications rooms. Trenching and placing conduits and manholes. Pipe bending of all sizes (including Mechanical Pipe bending).   

 

06/07-12/12                 OSP PLNG & Design Engineer, AT&T

Prepared network designs for wireless, wireline and broadband infrastructure. Design and implementation of C.O. and OSP facilities including field surveys. Develop, implement, and maintain all Engineering, Drafting and Facilities records, through work order preparation and processing, including design and closeout of facilities assignments. Responsible for preparation, acquisitions, and processing of all private and public, state and federal Rights-Of-Way and easement permit. Prepare designs for FTTC, FTTN, FTTP, OPT-E-MAN, POTS, and Copper reinforcement projects. Prepare conduit layout and Node placement drawings and perform related engineering administration duties for the AT&T Lightspeed Project. Able to read cable records, interpret OSP Methods and Procedures and make sound engineering judgments.

Installed new connects (digital cable, VoIP, and HSD), reconnects, requested and non-pay disconnects; added outlets; installs and/or removed converters; performed upgrades and downgrades of service. As a civilian Communications Engineer in the Information Technology field in support of the United States Military in Commercializing Outside/Inside plant facilities in Iraq.  Planed, instituted, and installed cable runs, both copper and fiber through conduit, ceilings, raised floors, and underground conduit/manholes.  Tested, serviced, and maintained, Voice over IP, Network Data systems, and telecommunication lines to include, node center switches, routers, access switches, and system control centers.  Verified and certified both copper and fiber systems to MIL standards.  Identify, locate and resolve problems quickly.  Provide help desk support to the client & server tiers. 

03/04-05/04RT2 Installer, Kineticom

Installed Ericsson 3202 UMTS equipment.  Measured and mark floors, position and assemble ironwork and cable racks.  Drill floors, install raised floors, install anchors, level, align, and secure equipment and earthquake requirement. Experienced in reading blueprints/floorplans, simple mechanical, electrical, MOPs, JIMs, and instructional documentation.  Connect all signal, bus and power cable to include strip, fan, form, wire wrap, and crimp.  Properly run, dress, form, secure all cabling (switch) RBS (tywrap). Prepare RBS cell site equipment proposals for Account Managers.  Prepare drawings, equipment lists and cable lists for all cell sites. Update or create new drawings using AutoCAD. Assemble and distribute drawings, manuals and documents to customers and Ericsson field personnel for all cell sites for all projects.  Conduct site surveys and provide installation documentation for all Microcell sites worldwide and provide as-installed drawings and documents to the customer. Provide installation, procedures, and "As-Built" documentation for all Personal Communication Systems (PCS). Provide documentation for all EUS departments, as time permits.  Provide technical data to customers for air conditioning, electrical, grounding, and civil requirements for projects.

Surveyed for the Voice Path Pricing Project for AT&T Wireless in the San Francisco and Los Angeles markets. Conduct site surveys at existing sites for system change outs, prepare drawings of existing sites, determine location of Ericsson equipment at existing sites and prepare and issue drawings and documents of Ericsson system.  Insure Red Lines and Rack face drawings are updated and returned to Richardson, TX.
