SUMMARY   
  
Outside plant:   
Engineered Outside Plant from copper lines/fiber to Digital loop Carries (DLC) for telecommunications. Deployed electronics’ from Lucent, Fujitsu, Nortel, Pair gain, and ADC for telecommunications projects. Managed construction of telecommunications projects. Designed distribution lines to feed new developments. Advised field engineers about city right of ways, county right of ways and private right of ways wherever needed for designs and construction of projects. Deployed  FTTN architectures resolving powering issues at the CO and RT. ATM, SONET, Packet & Cell Switching, Routing, LAN’s/WAN's. Network Architectures/Topologies and Network Protocols. Wireless Communications (DSSS, CDMA, TDMA, GSM, OFDM, MMDS, LMDS)

Network Engineer   05/2006- present

Work under contract  for frontier. Maintained databases and routing in the ADSL DSLAM's. Providing remote DSL technical support to customers and Field Technicians. Assist where necessary with ADSL trouble tickets in helping to resolve common causes. Ensure network standards and practices are followed and enforced. Basic knowledge of T-1, DS-3, DS-0, fiber facilities, DLC, RS-232 interface. Knowledgeable of ADSL/SDSL access and Data Network (ATM). Maintained databases and routing in the ADSL DSLAM's. Assist and coordinate the turn-up of new DSLAM's and other network elements including, but not limited to the BRAS, ATM switch and Internet Routers. Provide remote DSL technical support to customers and Field Technicians. Assist where necessary with ADSL trouble tickets in helping to resolve common causes. Ensure network standards and practices are followed and enforced. Maintain accurate and extensive records of the various databases maintained (i.e. ATM Switch, Customer Record Databases, Element Managers, and Spreadsheets etc). Requirements and Specific Competencies: PC Literacy and fluency in Microsoft Office, and various operating systems. Flexibility to use some home grown programs - Knowledge of ADSL/SDSL access and Data Network (ATM). Knowledge of TCPIP protocols and skills (i.e. PING, Tracet, Ipconfig, etc)-Demonstratable. Knowledge (functional) of Internet. Two-year degree in relevant Technical discipline or equivalent experience with demonstrable logic skills. Knowledge of T-1, DS-3, DS-0, fiber facilities, DLC, RS-232 interface, Ethernet, WANs, LANs, etc. Operation of Motor Vehicle required? YES.

PC Literacy and fluency in Microsoft Office, and various operating systems.

 

Worked on projects such as Calix ODC 10, 40, 80 cabinet, ODC 48 cabinet to provide H.S.I pairs to existing boxes. These cabinets being part of existing OC48 rings being fed out from Laguna Central Office

Work under contract for SBC.I was assigned the GARDEN wire center route using AUTOCAD 2006 to designed jobs. Replaced old cable routes, 25 pair terminal, x box to provide more capacity to area. Did all fieldwork to recognize the work that needed to be done.

Worked for Verizon Avenue Operations department deploying IP technology for High speed internet, Telephony and video streaming. Selected areas where the technology needed to be placed and submitted design for construction. Met with contractors to discuss timelines and construction processes for telecommunications projects. Reviewed and approved designs of projects and accepted completion of projects. Supervised Construction and development of project. Create and coordinate an engineering design package for each site.  Developed a construction schedule for each site/region. 

Assisted & recommend the client on several design schemes and options for equipment configuration.  Prepare bid submittal packages for sub-contractors . Candidate will be responsible for overseeing the installation of building related equipment, infrastructure and systems incorporating design practices that utilize energy management practices and maintenance reduction strategies for buildings. responsible for incorporating construction practices on building projects that ensure communications service continuation without unplanned disruptions.  Managed architectural/engineering consultants, owner's representatives, construction managers and trade contractors to assure compliance with corporate standards and project commitments within time and budget constraints.

Outside Plant Engineer, 7/1999 -10/1999  
Worked under contract for QWEST formerly USWEST as a Designed Engineer. Designed outside Plant engineering for Powers telecommunications department. Replaced damaged cables and electronics from distribution lines. Received preliminary worksite specs from developers to start the design of distribution lines. Visited work sites in order to cover all aspects of the design. Used AutoCAD LT 2000 to draft designs. Seeking experienced full time Engineers and Designers to work in our Denver and Houston offices on nationwide fiber optic telecommunications projects. Degree in civil and electrical engineering and CADD design a plus. Must have at least five years experience in the development of Outside Plant and Inside Plant construction work plans and knowledge of permit requirements and construction techniques. Duties will include design activities, quality assurance, coordination with construction work forces and clients. Candidates must be self motivated and willing to travel on assignment.

Worked for Capacity Provisioning department as a Quick Response Engineer. I had under my responsibility twenty seven central offices of the state of Minnesota. Designed DS1 case lines to feed different systems for pair gain use. Worked with SLC2000, LITESPAN, DMS URBAN to provide POTS, DS1, ISDN and 56KB services. Deployed FTTN for local versus line powering. Muxed down fiber to DS1 and to DSO levels to provide more capacity for telephony and high bandwidth. Conditioned copper lines for different levels of speed such as 56KB, ISDN, and DS1. Provided assistance to Outside planners to deploy existing plant or to place new plant for new developments. Utilized OSP-FM, CIMAGE, LFACS and CPD to perform my job.
