WORK EXPERIENCE
• Prepared FTTN DA pricing estimates for AT&T Construction
and Engineering Group in addition to training and support duties for the
regional JAM training staff.

• Project Manager for a team of 40 installation and repair techs and
supervisors in the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma in Miami, helping to reduce
Bell South customer trouble reports from a level of 30,000+ to less than 500
upon completion of project.
• Had total responsibility for both contract and in house cable
placement of fiber optic and copper cable in direct buried, underground duct,
aerial, and building environments for the Austin, Texas construction district
for SBC.
• Responsible for the build out of more than 80 miles of multi-duct
conduit within the Austin, Texas area for SBC (and in Arlington, Texas for
Metromedia Fiber Networks) along with associated poured in place manholes as
well as placing pre-cast manholes and handholds. I accomplished this without
a single OSHA incident and finished each sub project on time and within
budget objectives.
• Responsible for placing hundred’s of miles of copper and
fiber cable.
• Expert at contractor coordination, safety and quality compliance.
• Proficient at keeping construction costs within Capital Budget
limitations.
• Managed multiple and simultaneous construction projects by
utilizing 12-20 construction inspectors for quality assurance of work
performed by contractors.
• Trained many OSP Quality assurance inspectors.
• Also managed 8-12 company employees to place cable with company
owned trenching equipment on projects where I determined that it may be more
cost effective than awarding a contract for the projects.
• Coordinated with Engineering during job design to assure cost
effective design and to minimize any changes during project build out.
• Responsible for proactive coordination among all entities to
assure service commitments were met as well as meeting all quality
objectives.
• Responsible for pre-construction cost analysis prior to awarding
of contracts and total responsibility for contractor compliance during
construction.
• Proficient in meeting specific goals including, but not limited
to: Budget, Quality, Safety and Subordinate Training.
• Managed construction costs through good planning and sound
decisions when roadblocks were encountered.
• Prepared clear and accurate project status reports.
• Assessed subordinate proficiency, documented, counseled, and
coached subordinates as necessary to enhance performance and to meet
objectives.
• Evaluated existing cellular sites that were being bought or sold
to identify environmental concerns such as location, soundness of existing
plant, past land uses, possible future uses, drainage, possible health or
safety risks and liabilities.
• Verified and documented the extent and condition of existing plant
in cellular environments (at cell sites).
