Summary of qualifications§

 

Outside Plant/Inside Plant Fiber Optics:  Installation of aerial, buried and underground closures manufactured by ADC, 3M, SEICOR and PLP.  Cable prep and splice tray set up. Fusion/mass fusion splicing of loose tube, singlemode, and multimode with Fujikura and Sumitomo equipment. Installation and design of ISP equipment rooms, fiber relay racks, and terminals. Mechanical connectorization and termination of single mode and multimode tight buffered cables using ST, SC, and LC connectors.  Calculation and determination of link loss budgets.  PON and switched Ethernet with line powering installation and design. Attenuation testing and fault analysis with EXFO and CMA 4000 OTDRs and Fluke DTX/DSP power meters.  Strong background in FTTX solutions and outside plant craft techniques.

 

 

Structured wiring: Multi-mode, single-mode, cat 5e, cat6e, fire stopping systems, pathways for horizontal and backbone cabling, and equipment room design, project management and implementation.  Specialized in large medical campus development with multiple buildings, OSP facilities, and cable runs numbering in the thousands. Responsible for aspects of project management including estimation, labor resources, training programs, safety programs, material procurement, quality control, customer satisfaction, and documentation.

 

Wireless systems: CDMA, TDMA, FDMA, 802.11b-g, various military radio systems. Experience in component level troubleshooting and design of transmitter and receiver circuit boards, power supplies, modulation/demodulation boards, encryption components and antenna propagation.

 

 

CATV: Engineering of new construction and rebuilds, inspection of new system specification compliance, and management of cutover activities. Management of cable splicing and CLI activities. Senior management of residential installation crews to include their training, task allocation, and quality of service assurance.

 

LAN/ WAN: Working knowledge of OSI model, switches, routers, servers, and bridges. Comprehensive understanding of Ethernet, token ring, FDDI, TCP/IP, and other networking technologies.

 

Software: Strong MS Word, Outlook and Excel.

 

Leadership:  Experience leading and taking responsibility for teams of greater than twenty individuals on individual projects ranging up to five million dollars.  Successful at meeting deadlines below original budget and improving team performance through task streamlining and allocation.

 

Electrical/Power:  Highly qualified to troubleshoot and install 120/240/480 volt power service to residential and commercial applications. Experienced with -48V power transmission in outside plant applications.
