Project Experience:
Enron Corporation, Houston, TX
3 phase project. The Houston Leg of this project: Pulled in Lucent True Wave & Match Cladding 192 strand Ribbon Cable.
Spliced 16 splice points over 65 kilometers of single mode cable. Spliced all fiber with a Sumitomo type 63 splicer and a
Fujikura mass fusion splicer. Each splice had a maximum splice loss of a .45 Bi-Directionally. Tested and certified all
fibers with the GN NETTEST CMA-4000 OTDR at 1550nm with a 10 micro second pulse width, with index of refraction
settings, for both types of glass as specified by the customer.
Hickam AFB, Honolulu, HI
7-phase project consisting of 100% single mode fiber. Phase 1: Pulled in 12, 24 or 48 strand dual steel strength rod central
core cables; Built (67) 7 ft. racks. Installed 201 AT&T fiber optic patch panels Terminated 2848 strands of fiber with ST II
Lucent connectors using Lucent’s anaerobic solution. Dressed in all cables into Lucent patch panels in 21
locations/buildings. Terminated 2000 strands of fiber multi-mode fiber with 3M hot melt connectors. Tested and certified
all fibers with a Siecor optical loss test sets and the Siecor 383 plus OTDR.
City of El Paso (Telco Services), El Paso, TX
Spliced all fibers at 100 splice points; spliced Siecor single mode OSP 72 & 96 strand cables into 3M 2178 closures using a
Siecor M-90 fusion splicer. 50% were Arial splices and 50% were underground splices. The job specs called for 60% of
the splice points to be butt spliced, the other 40% were mid sheath entries and had specific splice assignments to bring
on new customers. Spliced all fibers using a Fujikura FSM-40 fusion splicer, into 3m 2178 Splice closures. Tested and
certified all fiber using the Siecor 383 plus OTDR.
Glendale Community College, Glendale, AZ
2-phase project. The first phase: Built (51) 7ft racks. Installed 153 Telect fiber optic patch panels. Spliced factory pigtails
onto 3400 strands of Berk-Tek multi-mode ISP cable using a Siecor M-90 fusion splicer, connecting 17 new buildings on
campus to the existing primary and secondary rings of the college network. Phase #2: Spliced factory pigtails onto 1200
strands of single mode Berk-Tek cable using a Siecor M-90 fusion splicer; these fibers were designated for future use and
were to be left dark. Tested all fibers using a Siecor 383 plus OTDR.
Lewis State Prison, Goodyear, AZ
Installed 45 Chatsworth wall racks. Installed 90 Ortronics fiber optic patch panels. Terminated 1608 ends of Berk-Tek
multi-mode ISP cable using anaerobic adhesive & primer with Amphonal ST connectors, into Ortronics patch panels, at
both ends of new cable in the data facility. This connected the main facility building to 5 other campus buildings. Tested
and certified all fibers BI-directionally using a Siecor 383 plus OTDR
Yuma State Prison
Installed 7 Chatsworth 7 ft. racks, Installed 14 Chatsworth wall units. Pulled in three 96 strands cables of Berk-Tek single
mode fiber. Spliced these 288 strands of single mode fiber with factory pigtails using a Siecor M-90 fusion splicer and
then they were left dark for future use. Terminated 1200 strands of Berk-Tek multi-mode ISP cable using anaerobic
adhesive & primer with Amphonal ST connectors. Installed 21 Ortronic fiber optic patch panels. Dressed all cables into
Ortronics patch panels, at the main data facility end. Terminated the other end (1200) connectors between the 12
assigned buildings that they were assigned to. Tested all fibers BI-directionally using a Siecor 383 plus OTDR.
Red Rock High School, Mesa, AZ
Installed 3 (7ft) Chatsworth racks, Installed 4 Chatsworth wall units. Installed 14 Siemon’s fiber optic patch panels.
Terminated 700 strands of Berk-Tek multi-mode fiber using Amphonal ST Connectors and anaerobic adhesive and
primer. Tested and certified all fibers using a Siecor optical loss test set and a Siecor 383 plus OTDR.
Department of Immigration and Naturalization (INS), El Paso TX
Installed 6 new splice points using a Sumitomo #36 fusion splicer, 3M 2178 closures and Siecor Single Mode OSP cable up
and down the Rio Grande. All splice points were mid sheath entries with specific assigned splice destinations for new
customer that needed to be live on the network in 24 hours. The splice points stated at the Zaragoza International Bridge
(Juarez Mexico) and ended at the Texas/New Mexico state line. Spliced 192 single mode fibers in to 3 different 3M 2178
Splice cases at 3 different locations along the Texas U.S. Mexican Border. Tested all 6 splice points consisting 384 fibers
using a Siecor 9660 OTDR.
E-Spire, Tucson, AZ
Spliced 70 Splice points from Tucson, Arizona to the US/Mexican border at Nogales, Mexico. 40 were new and 30 were
current and active splice points. All of the splice closures were 3M 2178 and the cables were Siecor freedom style OSP,
Fitel OSP and Accutel OSP type cables. The 40 new slice points consisted of splicing, protect, serve and lateral cables,
while the other 30 active splice points were all mid sheath entries with new splice assignments. In addition to pulling in 70

48 strand single mode OSP cables, Spliced in 56 additional new cables into 25 existing splice points and 31 new splice
points, using Sumitomo #36 fusion splicer. Tested and certified all fibers with a Photon Kinetics PK 7500 & a Siecor 383
plus OTDR.
Tucson Electric and Power, Tucson, AZ
Spliced 10 splice points of which 7 were active and 3 were new. The 7 active splice points were all mid sheath entries
consisting of Alcatel OSP single mode cable and 3M 2178 closures. The 3 new splice points consisted of Fitel OSP single
mode cable and Coyote closures. The 3 new splice points were all butt splices. Spliced all fibers using a Fujikura FSM-50
splicer; Tested all fibers using a Siecor 9660 OTDR.
Navajo Indian Reservation, Ganada, AZ/Gallup NM
Spliced 3 new splice points for the Ganada Indian School District. All 3-splice points were new and ran through an
underground duct system. All of the splice points consisted of multi-mode OSP Alcatel cable and 3M 2178 closures.
Spliced all fibers using a Siecor M-90 fusion splicer and tested all fiber using a Siecor 383 plus OTDR.
Evergreen Airfield, Tucson AZ
New expansion to an existing structure that included a partial removal of the current communications network pulled in,
routed, laced in and terminated 3926 drops of cat 5 cable, Built 87 (7ft) racks, installed 44 wall rack units, Installed 50
Panduit fiber optic patch panels, terminated 720 strands of multi-mode Siecor ISP Cable using Siecor ST (gic) glass in
center connectors with anaerobic adhesive and primer tested and certified all fiber using a Laser Precision TD-1000-A
mini OTDR.
