Summary

 

My career experience in the telecommunications field has been obtained as an employee, as a consultant and as a corporate provider of technical services.

Management skills were acquired in operating a departmental enterprise to include marketing and sales, accounting and reporting, financial, administration, contracts, human resources and recruitment of personnel.

Proficiency in operations management was created thru telephone and cable television construction as a ground man, lineman, sub foreman and as a foreman.

Other skills were acquired thru cable splicing, installation and maintenance to include cutover of toll and exchange facilities.

Additional skills were acquired thru outside plant engineering. Engineering projects included design, inspection when required, for copper, carrier and fiber optics   distribution and feeder applications.

Promotions contributed to experience in Supervision, Outside plant planning, building industry consultant, Row acquisition, training  and coordinated numerous special projects.

Experience was acquired thru national and international assignments. Clients included various telephone, cable television, long distant carriers, government, railway and foreign enterprises.

Extensive experience in performing unit price engineering.

FTTP Engineer   ( Fiber To The Premise )

 

Fiber Optics Feeder and Distribution Design Projects for Tampa, Florida and surrounding communities.  These projects included the design of fiber optic feeder routes from the C.O. to designated hub locations as well as distribution fiber to business and residential subscribers within predetermined design allocated areas. All jobs required present and future allocation of fibers for existing dwellings and future growth.  All projects entailed obtaining right of way from governmental agencies and private ROW when required.

Outside Plant Engineer

 

Review of multi tenant buildings in Chicago, and other cities within Illinois, to evaluate existing facilities to determine their capability in supporting special service requests. This process provided detail information to marketing who in turn utilized this data to submit proposals to building owners.

Design of Outside Plant Engineering  work orders for the Santa Fe, N.M. District.

Jobs varied from new service to major projects.

 

GTE/ VERIZON/ VALOR TELECOM     2000-2002

District Engineer

 

Responsible for all engineering work orders within 10 exchange areas to include Ruidoso and Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. These work orders involved new service, rehab of existing  facilities , relocation of plant for road moves, major and minor relief projects as well as large feeder jobs for new and relief projects. All work orders entailed obtaining permits or new ROW with agencies or private concerns.

Civic Outside Plant Engineer

 

Co-ordinated  Civic  projects with state, city and utility companies for beautification projects in San Antonio, Texas. Following the coordination process final work prints were prepared for construction.
