Douglas W. Johnson 10900 Hasty Lane (Midlothian,
VA)
(B) 804/772-1106 VZ Telecom Regional Operations
Commencing with the FTTP buried contractor placing oversight
then with 2.5 years overall FTTP Construction Project Management with another
2.5 years of Multi Dwelling Units (MDU) and Multi Tenant Unit (MTU) placing
and splicing oversight along with my current position as Local Manager of
FIOS/CORE Buried Service Wire (BSW) has placed me in a position that enables
me to provide quality leadership building Verizon’s FTTP/CORE Outside Plant
infrastructure. As FTTP Project Manager I analyze our monthly objectives, making
(and adjusting when necessary) comprehensive plans including monitoring
capital and expense budgets, mentoring and couching peers as well as
associates to embrace the common monthly objectives by working together as
one team. During this period from 2005 through 2007, our team made
significant contributions to the Virginia’s overall ready for sales
objective, often passing monthly objectives. Based on my diverse experience of Outside Plant Construction I
an confident in stating that I am well qualified to perform the duties and
job responsibilities of Area Manager – Construction. EXPERIENCE

VERIZON
RICHMOIND, VA
SUPV - CONSTRUCTION My current position is the Local Manager for the Central
Virginia Buried Service Wire team overseeing 21 technicians across three work
centers covering 78 wire centers. Primary job duties are to insure customer
satisfaction by completing FiOS BSW placement in front of the FiOS service
order date due minus one day. Secondary only due to overall volume is to
insure the placement and cutover when required of BAU/Copper BSW in areas,
which do not have FiOS available. This is accomplished utilizing two contract
vendors assigned to separate areas within the 78 wire centers, placing all
BSW regardless of type. My concentrated effort for the first four months in
this position has been focused on reinforcing procedures and work rules as
well as overall support to the team by providing effective leadership and
guidance. As an improvement measure I established an area SPOC for both the
Fredericksburg and Richmond area in order to improve associate productivity
and oversight of Verizon’s BSW contract vendors. 01-01-2009 –

SUPV – CONSTRUCTION Primary job duties were to oversee the outside plant
construction of the FTTP MDU/MTU (Multi-Dwelling Unit/Multi Tennant Unit)

Splicing Technicians. This included scheduling resources (placing and
splicing), material management and supply while interfacing with the CMC
(Construction Management Center) as well as OSP Engineering to insure monthly
MDU/MTU ready for sales targets were met. Secondary to the MDU/MTU project
the team also provided cable splicing services for the FTTP SFU project. For
year end 2009 the team completed 69 MDU EWO’s totaling 7,507 units made ready
for sales as well as 81 MTU EWO’s totaling 1,952 units made ready for sales.
These results were accomplished while exceeding the overall cost per home
target of $1,014 with an actual result of $957 per home passed. The team also
exceeded the Sell One More year end goal of increasing revenue by $91,000 by
bringing a total of $220,400 of additional revenue to Verizon. 01-01-2008 –

Chester, VA SUPV – CONSTRUCTION Job responsibilities were split between two roles. I managed a

Central Virginia preformed within the provisions and language set forth
within the Contract Vendor Placing Agreement between Verizon and the Contract

Standards and the Verizon Virginia FTTP Construction 2008 Damage Prevention
Policy. The second role was the complete oversight (including all
construction placing and splicing) of the FTTP MDU/MTU project in Central
Virginia with the direct supervision of six Cable Splicing Technicians. In
both areas of responsibility I planned, organized and coordinated all
activities encompassing both teams. The Compliance Team is best in class
throughout Virginia (fBA) for material management and oversight of cable
inventory and disbursements. The MDU/MTU Tem completed 86 MDU EWO’s totaling
7,617 units as well as 61 MTU EWO’s totaling 1,631 units through the end of

coordinated all components of the FTTP build scheduling all FTTP work

assist in building the best workable schedule each month. Conducted bi-weekly
conference calls with all team members to monitor each ongoing job to ensure
monthly targets were met or exceeded. Ensured each Engineering Work Order
closed in vBuild each month in order for the red-lined “as built” print to be
forwarded to the CMC in a timely manner to ensure ready for sales targets
were met. For the time period from May 2005 to December 2007 Central Virginia
exceeded monthly Single Family and Multi-Dwelling objectives nearly every month.
For year end 2007 the Central Virginia Team came in at $894.57 cost per home
