Responsible for the development, drafting and occasional engineering of equipment standards, installation packages, cabling and cable standards, posted to the Intranet by using Microstation and Adobe Acrobat.  Equipment Nortel switches, Cisco routers, fuse panels, power and grounding.  MCI WorldCom’s installation packages were designed using Microstation and published on the intranet via Adobe Acrobat.  I was responsible for the management of all CAD functions.

Responsible for engineering installation packages for customers of IP Communications DSL service, to include installation of Lucent Stingers and card modules.  Assisted field installers with technical support and supervised all CAD functions.  I engineered special projects to include rack superstructure steel design with 3D isometric rack assemblies in Visio CAD Software for our client Ameritech, connectorized cable details, cable design, cable drawings and vendor equipment drafting of front planes and backplanes for connectivity. Special projects overseen were incorporated into installation packages using Visio CAD Software to develop a large DSL Network for IP Communications.  Telecom Business Systems Software was used extensively for provisioning circuits, installing cross connects and engineering connectivity of equipment.

Responsibilities included the development and publishing of engineering standards and installation packages, new equipment, field verification (FVO) and unique project installations.  Additional projects were Federal Aviation Administration (FAATSAT), which included a mobile satellite downlink and FAA remote facilities.  The emphasis on these projects was the on-site physical equipment integration and connectivity to include cabling, power, floor space and functionality of the facility with as-built plans. Also designed building power, auxiliary power and -48V power.

Repeater/regenerator design to include equipment layouts, power, grounding, panduct, cable ladder and cable entrances.  Outside plant long haul fiber route design to support regenerator sites.  Additional experience includes Central Office Engineering (COE) provisioning of floor space for equipment.  MCI’s very large junctions and terminals required in depth study to develop build-out forecasts for five (5) year future planning.
