BENCHMARKS AND CAREER MILESTONES

•    Successfully managed the engineering, ordering of material and construction build for 160 projects while contracting for CenturyLink's One Gig to each home project in Seattle wa.

•    Completed 306 EWO's in the last 13 months working as an on premise Outside Plant Engineer with Verizon. I played a major role in satisfying 4 LFA agreements, provisioning addresses and issuing EWO's to provide FIOS to premises that were originally missed. Manage Path creation contractors for buried FIOS service and MDU path creation.

·   Just completed all Engineering for Verizon's second largest cable failure due to the Central St. bridge fire in Lawrence Mass. I engineered the cutover of 19 Fiber cables and 10 Copper cables of 1500 pairs or more for each cable and all work was completed in a time frame of 2 weeks. 8-27-12 thru 9-8-12

·   The first “Held Order” engineer in the MOC center in the state of Massachusetts to meet the end of year objective of zero “Held Orders”

·   Recovered over $3,550,000.00 in reimbursable construction capital dollars back to Verizon as an OSP Turf Engineer proactively working with Municipalities and Contractors

·   Selected as one of only two Outside Plant Engineers from Massachusetts to help restore facilities lost on 9/11 in NY. Spent 5 months in Manhattan helping restore the communications infrastructure. Deployed fiber optic cables to cut over all existing copper facilities. Personally helped restore “Wall Street” to start trading again

·   Assigned as Lead Engineer when the North area rolled out its FIOS network  when Verizon announced that it was going to deploy Fiber to the premises (FIOS) as its new network

·   Exceeded the required number for single family homes served and was awarded title as Lead Engineer for MTU/MDU (multi-tenant and multi-dwelling units) program for the North 

·   Realized lower costs and higher efficiencies, pioneering buried fiber (FIOS) installation methods, for each sub-division

•    Walk fiber jobs inspecting for road blocks, hazards quality errors and worker safety.
•    Pre-walk work orders looking for anything that will stop productivity of fiber placing.

           Inspect work orders for improper fiber cable placing before being splice to eliminate splicing

           Re-work.

•    Inspect work orders after all fiber cabling and splicing are complete for all quality issues, bonds and grounds, no snow shoes and placement of snow shoes, height, general quality of all hardware that was placed at each pole and if trash was left behind.
•    Work Zone safety and set up properly and are all workers in compliance with their personal protective equipment.
•    Complete final project Audits for all material and units are captured for job Reconciliation.

•    Manage Engineering team (8 engineers) assessing different skill sets in assigning work load and training needs as a team. Quality and review all designs before designs are submitted to the customer.
•    Attend preconstruction meetings with developers and owners for scope and construction schedule for project and continue to work with the customer until project is complete.

Assumed an assignment backfilling an open position in Dracut Mass. serving as an OSP engineer covering over 12 communities. Successfully maintained and engineered the largest turf area in the Merrimack Valley. Routinely volunteered and accepted additional turf area (wire centers) work to help with the workload.

·   Engineered  and project managed a Inter office facilities (I.O.F) project of placing 37 miles of 432 Fiber cable, the complete Installation and budget and timeline were met.

·   Engineered and project managed a major Massachusetts Department of Highway infrastructure bridge job to completely relocate major conduit systems and joining pole line

·   Relocated 79 poles and Cable for a reimbursable job from the town of Methuen, Massachusetts

·   Completed design of 264 unit sub-division for FIOS only, (Greenfield type) Conduit and Cable. Completed numerous sub-divisions between 4 and 60 units

·   Engineered 80% of the entire Northeast Cell site upgrades for 4G companies VZW, AT&T, and

     T-Mobile. Ensured that new fibers were provided to all existing and new cell towers, and structures

 

NETWORK ENGINEERING- NSG, Saugus, MA1999 - 2007

After receiving a promotion into the Engineering Department I was given the towns of Danvers, Middleton, and Lynnfield. These towns are upscale communities needing lots of attention. This is where I developed the demands needed of customer face to face interacting. Also with home owners, contractors and town officials building commercial and residential business units and sub-divisions, to provide service. Served as the MDU/MTU engineer, averaging 7,500 units yearly.

·   Deployed over 20 cabinets for Multiplexing equipment for Hi-cap orders. Brought relief to copper exhausted areas without fiber facilities. Also included providing facilities to 3 new cell sites and converted 2 existing

·   Engineered 18 new sub-divisions and 4 new buildings

·   Rewarded by being given a new challenge and more towns and completed all engineering tasks for a new 6 story industrial building at the Cummings center business park

·   Engineered over 20K feet of fiber to relieve an exhausted CEV

·   In the town of Beverly, singly placed 8 cabinets for Multiplexing equipment for Hi-cap orders

·   Completed 6 new sub-divisions, one of which had 4 streets and 34 homes

·   Spent 5 months helping restore the communications infrastructure post 9/11 in New York City

·   Project-managed the towns of Lynnfield, Topsfield and Boxford for all aerial fiber placement
