Cox Communications; San Diego CA, 2/2012 - Present

Project Planner (Contractor)

Work with various departments within Cox and with external partners to engineer projects and manage all necessary steps needed to meet commercial customers’ telecommunication needs.

§         Perform field engineering of proposed projects and design most cost effective route.

§         Initiate customer contacts, secure access, ROW agreements and permits.

§         Research and review plans, gather necessary information and material requirements for project.

§         Estimate construction costs, prepare/submit  budget for approval and track expenses.

§         Coordinate contractor work, distribute design prints and other necessary working documents and negotiate design or construction changes.

§         Upon project completion, reconcile assets, close project and generate reports.

 

Signtech Electrical Advertising; San Diego CA, 11/2010 – 2/2012

Project Manager

Responsibilities included organizing, planning, scheduling and controlling all facets of multiple, simultaneous signage projects, nationally and internationally. Ensuring all projects were completed within time and cost limitations.

§         Review contract documents completely and have full knowledge of the company’s responsibilities and requirements in completing the contract scope of work.

§         Coordinate equipment, product, manpower and subcontractor scheduling to comply with all project requirements from initial scope through all contract amendments.

§         Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors and complete subcontract work scopes and purchase order.

§         Participate in and contribute to project progress meetings in an advocate position for the success of the company and the project, including providing suggestions to support other team members.

§         Approve/reject/modify invoices in a timely fashion.

 

RRTNA; San Diego CA, 07/2007 – 10/2009

City Planner/Project Manager

Working from home researched, forecasted, planned and coordinated the extraction of idle copper cable.

§         Worked with various Telco partners and other RRT departments to identify and maximize cable for extraction.

§         Coordinated and monitored progress of all steps leading to cable recovery and took necessary action to maintain projects on track.

§         Performed project/cable profitability analysis

§         Served as liaison between our company and our partners, working to identify and solve potential obstacles.

§         Maintain daily and weekly detailed report for over 30 on-going projects.

§         Served as designated trainer on M&P’s and new processes for the Southern California staff.

 

CHC Consulting (Santa Ana CA) 01/2007-06/2007

Design Engineer (Contractor)

Designed detailed; feeder and distribution outside plant network drawings to be used by construction.

§         Designed feeder and distribution work prints for construction.

§         Performed project cost estimates.

AT&T (San Diego CA, Austin TX), 08/2001 – 12/2006

Manager Engineering and Design

Managed the daily operations of the outside plant, copper, fiber, aerial and underground; Responsibilities included engineering, design, permitting, contracting and project management.

§         Designed jobs for F1 and F2 stabilization, FTTN, FTTP, Subdivisions, BIC, T1, Cell Sites and SAI upsizing.

§         Responsible for submitting and ensuring budget approval for projects.

§         Worked closely with other carriers, government entities, and building owners/landlords on new building service and relocations.

§         Prepared statements of work for OSP projects and monitored performance to ensure that projects commitments meet safety and regulatory standards.

§         Prepared project timelines, budgets and provided weekly detailed reports.

 

Manager Engineering and Design/Project Manager

Single Point Of Contact, for San Diego and Imperial County DS1, Engineering group.  Managed the successful, on time, cost efficient; completion of over 900 DS1 circuits and over 70 projects per month with 99.9% success rate.

§         Responsible for managing the workload and schedule for 10 design engineers and 3 contractors.

§         Advised engineers on technical, financial, and regulatory issues.

§         Under tight deadlines worked with various groups within AT&T to address customer complaints and escalations.

§         Served as statewide point of contact for DS1 outages, on call 24/7.

§         Provided technical support to operations groups for installations and maintenance activities.

§         Established training programs for the development of new and existing employees.

§         Designed service order driven jobs/circuits for Cell sites, DS1, DSL and ISND circuits, which required managing all steps leading to service delivery.

§         Acting area manager in absence of the area manager, responsible for project/budget approvals.

§         Awarded IDA (Individual Discretionary Award) three consecutive years (2003-2005) based personal contributions to the team.

§         Nominated for the President’s Start Performance Award (2003), Network Services West.

 

Initiative Media, North America; Los Angeles CA, 05/2000-02/2001

Account Coordinator

Working with other media planners, responsible for the strategic media planning and execution, for ethnic and general markets; worked on various accounts, such as, The California Census, Carl’s Jr., Bellagio Hotel and Casino.

§         Researched media placements, planning and buying of ad space.

§         Responsible for developing and packaging client presentations.

§         Budget management and revenue projections.
