My responsibility included Engineering DSL, Generic, and Network Augment BEI projects.  My projects would include migrating circuits from A2E and E2E conversions. My focal point included Engineering DSLAM devices such as Adtran TA1248/TA1148, Calix ODC, and UMC 1000. My daily responsibility is BEI projects installing additional T1-Spans to relieve bandwidth exhaust. This would include migration of a new Uplink or Fiber conversion such as 1200F’s being installed at the DSLAM remote.  Some of my daily task would include VLAN assignment, IP address assignment, DSLAM Turn-Up and Off-net orders with Light Core. The systems I had to navigate for completion of a project were; NDFOS, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Metasolve and TD Tracking Tool.

RF Optimization engineer /Transport Planner Engineer

Planning and Designing circuits from the Remote terminal (DLC) to the Central office and Planning Transport from the Central Office or HOST back to Aggregator. My responsibilities consist of pricing out Transport equipment such as Fujitsu FW4500, FW4100ES and Actelis units for the Remote sites (DLC) and the Central Offices. In charge of maintaining a quarterly budget based off House Holds, for strategic and static customers, where High Speed Internet (HSI) is pre-existing or existing in rural areas within the State of Michigan. Working side by side with the Implementation group and creating BOM’s for each Transport project being created. I also issued Site Surveys for DLC and CO/HOST sites for the state of Michigan.

Signal Switching (SS7)/ Granite Transport Engineer/Optimization engineer

August 2008 – May 2009

 

Provisioning SS7 Transport circuits for diversity between the BSC and the SGSN. Performing Due Diligence for network expansion. Alcatel/Client UMTS RNC, MSC, and uMGW.Ordering circuits, from NON-MUX type, to STSI and Total Service, and assisting Engineers with hands on experience in a live network.

 

Responsible for updating Granite with selected elements chosen for completion of the circuit and Time Motion Studies. Design facilities from A to Z DACS, IP’s, IMT’s IST’s,trunking, and transport facilities to support traffic. Understand 3G Network Elements. IuCS, IuPS, IuR, IuB provisioning.

Placing new Transport or Facilities to re-design path for diversity.

E911 and GB Link designing for diversity compliance between the BSC to Transport Network, also script preparation & execution.

Updating the Production Network through the Granite Database version 6.2 and 6.5, working with multiple vendors and functional engineering work-groups.

Rolling Traffic and Re-Homes for the Network Services Central, in the selected MTSO where the third party circuit will be replaced.

Placing Augments for increased 3G traffic UMTS.

Working with Local and LD LEC’S from submittal to completion. Tracking FOC’S to DLR’S, TDI and CGOA’S.

Circuit Design Layout for MIC package approvals for the VRAD System, including budget and  necessary binding post needed for expanding F2’s needed to support ATT new cable service (U-Verse TV). Designing and ordering circuits for Project LightSpeed and Calculating the necessary power and ground needed to support each build and Implementing Time Study Observer.

Capacity Planning analysis, and building business cases for node expansions.

Working with LEC to order equipment through the Granite system.

Going in the field and performing a pre-survey analysis and ordering transport through the Granite system , Web XNG. and assisting Engineers with hands on experience in a live network .IuB provisioning and,

Provisioned and maintained various types of Circuits such as, Point to Point, DALS, DS1’s and DS3’s

Engineer T1’s from On-net to Off-Net to customer Prem.

Designing Trunks from 56k up to a full T1 using B8ZS/ESF and AMI/D4 Equipment.

Designed Integrated and Dedicated Internet Circuits for Designated accounts for UUNet, Light Year, and Global Crossing.

Working with Install and Maintenance to Extend DMARC’S.

Designing frames with specific Jack Codes (RJ48C for DS1’s and RJ45S for stand alone 56K).

Verifying CFA’s through web base for Off-net orders, making sure LATA is not crossing, along with correct NPA/NXX is located.

Ordering T1’s and DS-3’s for local and long distant ACTL’S

Coordinating Access Service Request (ASR) to the ILEC for a Local Loop awaiting CLR.Using F&E,Tcoms and Netpro and Mecca.
