Technical position working inside a Network Operations Center to remotely configure, manage and troubleshoot a National Transport network. Coordinate resolutions with specific operating company field personnel, NOC management team and vendor support teams. Validate problem descriptions and perform detailed problem diagnosis; track and update problems in trouble-ticketing system. Identify, isolate and resolve network and customer impacting issues in a 24 X 7 environment. Would make decisions and take actions to prevent network interruptions and service degradation. Assist with creating RCA's, ticket auditing, submitting and working MOP's, filling out FCC reports, performing field dispatches and creating Outage Notifications. Performed technical and analytical support in determining the root cause of network problems and implement action plans. LEC central office technician responsible for 3 DMS 100 switches and over 40 remote sites. Responsible for all aspects of the network. Some of which include voice, broadband, E911, dial-up, frame relay/ATM, Dedicated Internet, Metro Ethernet, L2 and L3 VPN, MPLS, VLS, VoIP, and FTTp. Maintenance on all equipment in the network, and on all circuits in the network. Which include OC48, OC12, OC3, DS3, DS1, 64K, 56K, FX, analog, and digital circuits. Also install circuits in CO and at customer prem. when required. Including cell sites and other large business locations. Troubleshooting performed on equipment and circuits daily. Various equipment used, including Cisco, Nortel, Tellabs, Adtran, Westell, AFC, UMC, Metaswitch, Cyan, Calix, Juniper, Lucent, Hatteras, and Actelis. Install, repair, test, maintain CO switching and associated peripheral equipment. Verify/install service order related activities, dealing with both software and hardware as needed. Level 3 technician. Lead on installation of telecom equipment. Installation management of projects and installers. Installation for Nextel, Sprint PCS, and Sprint LDD. MOP design and Spec verification. Installed and tested a wide range of equipment. Some of which were Alcatel 1603, 1630, and 1631. Ditech echo cancelers. Several Cisco routers and Cisco OC3 - OC192 DWDM. Nortel SPM, Nortel DMS. Tellabs 5500 and 6500 and several types of Motorola equipment. Installation from mounting equipment, running and terminating cables (power cable, CAT 5, DS0's, T1's, T3's, Fiber, etc.). DC power installation, from cable running, lacing, and terminating to BDFB and battery installation. Performed all types of cable terminations, such as wire wrapping, fiber splicing, punch downs, and BNC connections. Performed provisioning and test and turnup of equipment when applicable. Equipment troubleshooting and problem solving on a daily basis. Used T-berd 310, 2310, all Acterna test sets, OTDR, optical analyzer, optical meters, Cerjac sonet test set, and power meters. Laptop testing and provisioning using GUI, Hyper terminal, Pro Comm, and Pro Com Plus.

Also worked in the Nextel NOC and Central Office as a Mobile Switching Office technician. Responsible for maintenance of DMS switch and field sites. Which includes site monitoring, equipment upgrades, and repair of equipment failures. Also equipment provisioning and troubleshooting, building new sites into the switch and network.

New sites for 2way paging, build cross connects in the Alcatel 1677, Alcatel 1630. Install cross connects for T1's and T3's at the DSX panel. Responsible for complete network, from the OMC to the field. Also coordinate drive testers for troubleshooting and testing. Provide maintenance on the Nortel DMS switch, Nortel SPME's, and Nortel S/DMSOC48 transport nodes. Responsible for test and turnup of new T1 and T3 circuits. Tested circuits using Tberd and Acterna test sets, and Net Analyst. Troubleshoot circuits with LEC on a daily basis. Performed maintenance and testing on LEC equipment. Maintenance and troubleshooting of Motorola iDEN network, and Motorola cell, ISC, and base radio's.

ATM networking specialist. Field engineer. Supervised and overseen installation of equipment at collocated sites all across the nation. Performed project management of installs, managed installs on site and installers. Performed audits of existing installs and new installs. Performed test and turnup, software upgrades, and certifications of installs. Provided on site client and customer support for the ATM network and equipment. Provided field engineering and services for the Alcatel NOC and customer NOC's. Aided customers in surveillance and troubleshooting of their network and equipment. Remote test and turnup of DS3 circuits for the Sprint Private Line (PLSC) group in the Atlanta NOC. DSN, OCN. Project manager of new DS3 circuits for Sprint customers. Managed from design to installing and testing with customer remotely. Performed customer support until DS3 was handed off to customer. Tested using IP to Cisco routers.
