Key Achievements

Led various teams throughout my career in several unfortunate disasters, such as restoration of Wall Street’s telecommunication services after the World Trade Center attack on 9/11/01, and the restoration of telecommunication facilities during the Northeastern ice storm of 1998. Both restoration accomplishments were successfully coordinated with FEMA, SEMO, local and state law enforcement agencies, and the military.

·         Engineer walkout information for a FTTP/MTU & SBU OSP fiber build to commercial customers in the Albany/Schenectady region.

Aspen Group/Verizon Telecommunications

Contract Project Manager/Engineer

·         Project manage the migration of 20,000+ lines from copper to fiber in Upstate New York, Manhattan, Staten Island, and Queens.

Contract Quality Assurance Engineer

·         Inspect various plant throughout the Eastern portion of New York State and report deviations to corporate executives.

·         Presurvey various cell sites and coordinate fiber deployment with various wireless carriers.

·         Oversee maintenance and construction projects to assure completion to prints and specifications.

Area Operations Manager – Network Services/Operations

Project Management:

·         Manage a fiber network build to over 500,000 residential homes and businesses across Upstate New York, consistently meeting and/or exceeding all due dates, tight timelines, and cost objectives.

·         Responsible for a capital budget of approx. $25M to $50M, and $8M to $20M in expense in an area of approx. 5500 square miles while delivering on objectives.

·         Coordinate construction projects, including meetings, materials, & development plans, in conjunction with electrical and gas utilities, local, city, and state municipalities, local businesses, NYS department of transportation, local water and sewer departments, cable companies, FEMA, SEMO, communities (public hearings and local board meetings) and environmental organizations (Dept. of Environment Control, Adirondack Park Agency, Fish and Wildlife Agency, Environmental Protection Agency, Lake George Park Commission, etc.)

·         Manage all real estate, consisting of procurement, rental, sale, and purchase of all garages and buildings in the area covered.

Marketing:

·         Coordinate project administration with marketing and advertising in the release of all new products, the promotion of services, the review of promotional releases, and the participation in upcoming events through advertising, public meetings, and the media. Work with local municipalities to attract new businesses to the eastern area of New York State.

Human Resources:

·         Manage a team of managers, installation, and maintenance personnel to install and repair customer lines throughout Upstate New York, setting strategic objectives and goals, while achieving and exceeding customer expectations in service delivery.

·         Manage and supervise all payroll, personnel, and human resource aspects regarding a team ranging from 145 to 370 employees (10-15 direct reporting managers and 130-355 indirect employees), including policy and procedure training, OSHA documentation, career development, safety compliance, performance efficiency/development, and performance appraisals.

·         Certified in interviewing, training, and hiring potential employees and interns.

Contract Administration:

·         Recognized as subject matter expert in all contract administration, reimbursement processes through state regulations, and bid-process overview.

Engineering Supervisor/Mechanical Engineer

·         Supervise, hire, train, and provide guidance to design engineers, drafters, technicians and clerks.

·         Perform complex engineering/mathematical calculations on valves designed for the chemical, refinery, and paper mill industry in materials such as hastelloy, inconel, titanium, stainless steel, stellite, etc. ranging in price from $1,000 to $300,000 each.

·         Provide engineering support through the development of cross-functional teams with manufacturing, purchasing, inside and field sales.

·         Implement marketing and customer specifications into design, welding specifications, casting method requirements, material designation, metallurgy, etc.

·         Project manage marketing, advertising, engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing efforts on all new product lines.

·         Train personnel in offices located in Glens Falls, NY, Helsinki, Finland, Montreal, Quebec, and sales personnel worldwide in type coding all products.

·         Follow multiple specification guidelines put forth by ASTM, ISO, ASME, DIN, JIS, etc. Recognized as subject matter expert in coding and classifying all product lines.
