Career Objective:

To utilize my strong technical, leadership, and Interpersonal skills in a Customer service tech position, or cable splicing position capitalizing on my strong Customer service skills and use my years of experience with OSP maintenance and rehab.

 

 

 

Career Overview

Currently I am unemployed was working for Centurylink had some health problems and had to resign. My superviser for Centurylink was Tom Carder his contact info is office: 434-971-4306 and Cell: 434-981-1764. Before that I was working for TEK Systems contracting to Centurylink there I trouble shoot repairs and work service orders also ADSL troubles and orders and Rehab. I also did some contract work for GSTEK at Ft Lee Va. where I did all copper and some fiber maintenance and splicing and fiber terminating. My previous employer was Verizon Communications there I was a cable splicer, One shot Tech for 10 years. At Verizon I did much of the same work. I have also been a journeyman Construction and Rehab Splicer since 1990. I also was partnered with my Father in the Lawn care business for 17 years. I have also been trained to fiber splice single mode and ribbon fiber and trouble shoot fiber with OTDR.

Technical Skills:

OSP Maintenance and repair: 20 plus years’ experience with ADSL, ISDN FIOS,TI, and all other special circuits, Cable Splicing, Fault locating, Cable maintenance, Underground , Buried, and Aerial. I also have a class A CDL with a plus 5 driving record. I can also operate heavy equipment (backhoe, excavator large or mini, ditchwich, skid steer, etc.) I was also a journeyman construction splicer back in the late 80s and early 90s.

 

Accomplishments:

Worked for GTE and Verizon as a Cable Splicer for 10 years

Construction Splicer for 8 years

I have worked as relief and recovery team member for storms such as Hurricane Bonnie, Floyd, Isabel and the Ice Storm in 1998. I have also T.A. for local manager when off or on vacation. With Verizon Tech evaluations I always met or exceeded requirements for the year.

 

 

Work Experience:

I was a Cable Splicer from 1998-2007 Verizon Gloucester, Va.

I was a One Shot Tech handling all aspects of OSP from C.O. to jack in Customer Premise Business and residential. I fixed damaged cables and Rehab both aerial and buried and underground. Also trouble shot circuits and Toll cables for company and Cellular Sites. I am also a journeyman electrician/no license.

 

Education and Training:

High School Graduated from Leesburg Senior High, Leesburg Fla. Lake County.

Verizon Schools in Suffolk, Va. And Richmond, Va. For I and R training, Cable Splicing, Fault Locating, ADSL, ISDN, T1, and FTTP, FIOS.
