Senior Inside/Outside Cable Plant Technician, GDIT, Afghanistan - 7-2011 to Present

My teams largest Outside Plant (OSP) construction project consisted of the engineering and

installation of a seven-mile, fiber optic backbone overlay.

As the Senior Field Technician, I lead our field team and vendors during the construction process

to ensure quality assurance and timeline objectives are satisfied.

Coordinate site meetings with base engineers and facility departments to ensure safety of

workers, design implementation, and overall project success.

Collaborate with design engineers on field designs and redline drawings.

Procure all job materials, tools, and heavy equipment essential to the project.

Installing cable pathways, pulling cables, installing equipment, splicing and terminating cables,

and testing are essential to project success.

Inside/Outside Cable Plant Technician, ITT Systems, Afghanistan - 8-2010 to 7-2011

As an inside/outside cable plant technician my core responsibilities are to ensure BICSI and

industry standards while transitioning telecommunication systems from a tactical environment to

permanent infrastructure.

Maintained positive client and contractor relationships through meetings and site visits to

acknowledge and correlate scope of work.

Coordinated construction tasks by determining tools, material, and equipment to ensure a

seamless installation process.

Responsibilities include a full range of installation and maintenance on inside and outside

SIPR/NIPR networks, fiber terminations, and structured wiring for mission essential projects.

Customer Service Technician, AT&T, Dallas, Texas - 1-2008 to 7-2010

Daily responsibilities consisted of the installation and troubleshooting of residential and

commercial phone and data issues, performed preventive maintenance on copper and FTTP

(Fiber to the Premise) U-verse networks, and involved in the resolution of customer concerns.

Responsible for the installation and repair of fiber optic, copper, special circuits, and outages.

Assignments included analyzing customer data from specific locations to determine service

performance, propose and organize cable rehabilitation and replacement projects based on data,

performance testing, and department budgets.

Customer Service Representative, Ryland Homes, Dallas, Texas - 3-2006 to 10-2007

Evaluated customer service warranty request to rectify warranty claims.

Managed all aspects related to problem resolutions.

Tasks and responsibilities included management of construction costs, subcontractor schedules,

and scope of work.

Supervised the repair process resulting in actual costs often being below estimated budgets.

Inspected repairs to ensure construction standards and customer satisfaction.

FiOS Technician, GTE/Verizon Communications, Denton, Texas -11-1998 to 3-2006

Selected to be one of the first FTTP Technicians to commence the FiOS service.

Installed and maintained business and residential communication systems, including copper,

fiber optic cables, and distribution cabinets.

Along with daily job duties, I was appointed to the Preventive Maintenance Program to eliminate

causes for potential customer complaints and to manage high priority escalations.

Electrician, Denton Electric Inc., Denton, Texas - 11-1995 to 11-1998

Performed electrical procedures in new and existing commercial and residential construction.

Installed inside/outside conduit systems, telephone blocks, patch panels, bonding and grounding,

and cable and rack systems for telephone and fire systems.

Duties include coordinating with general contractors and inspectors to comply with code

requirements and customer expectations as well as reviewing electrical prints to install wiring,

conduits, and panels.
