· More than 17 years of experience in telecommunications with emphasis in outside plant BAU construction,
planning, and design engineering for CenturyLink, Qwest, AT&T, and
Verizon.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Engineer,
CenturyLink, Taos, New Mexico; 8/10 to Present
Currently working in Northern New
Mexico. Responsible for the Town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley exchanges. Works
with developers, business customers, Taos County utilities, local
contractors, and home owners. Provides field notes for aerial, buried, and
underground fiber placement to existing SAI and coolped sites. Works with
AQCB, FTTN, FTTP, project managers and engineers to provide new fiber
facilities to existing State government offices, call centers, cell towers,
and local businesses. Provides field notes to obtain State highway permits.
Works closely with R/W engineers to acquire permits and easements for State
highway projects and new homes. Resolves and reduces customer held order
issues. Completes various routine work orders and maintains existing plant
placed and replaced copper cable when required.
Design/QRE
Engineer, Mountain, Ltd.; 2/10 to 8/10
Designed and issued jobs for T-Mobile
fiber to cell site projects. Jobs included placing underground fiber conduits
and handholes for placing fiber to customer building; and placing
indoor/outdoor Ciena 3911 terminal to customer locations. Completed design
jobs quickly to allow Construction to complete the project on time and within
budget. Supported Washington QRE; providing DS1 circuits to various locations
in the Seattle and Tacoma area.
Outside Plant
Engineer, Verizon, Valhalla, New York; 7/09 to 10/09
Responsible
for outside plant engineering for Westchester, Putnam, and Rockland County
exchanges. Researched and coordinated pole work including eliminating double
pole issues; transferring all aerial facilities to new poles; removing and
adding midspan poles; and replacing unsafe poles. Responsible for all
copper-related issues including removal of old aerial plants and placement of
new aerial and buried plants. Handled all permits; provided customer
requested DSL circuits; and issued jobs to Construction in IDDS and VISIO
format. Created and completed corresponding detail for all work orders.
Established and maintained good working relationships with other utility
companies such as CATV and CON ED. Performed field engineering including
meeting with customers regarding new construction sites and taking field
notes when necessary. Utilized LFACS, PRS, VBUILD, and PEOPLE SOFT databases
to research and complete job assignments. Involved with Verizon’s daily BAU.
Quick Response
Engineer (QRE), Expertech, Denver, Colorado (Qwest contract); 9/07 to 9/08
Responded to more than 15 technical
calls per day. Researched and provided information and problem resolution to
outside field technicians including splicers and I&M to complete
broadband circuit requests for Colorado and Wyoming customers. Posted
verified as-built drawings into OSP-FM; identified manholes and existing
repeater locations; and reviewed current design criteria to ensure existing
design qualified for circuit to customer location.
Outside Plant
Engineer, QC Data, Denver, Colorado; 4/07 to 9/07
Based on size and complexity, designed
and completed five or more AT&T Video Remote Access Device (VRAD) jobs
per week. Used AT&T field notes to design VRAD jobs for various exchanges
in California. Placed aerial, underground, and buried fiber to VRAD to
provide DSL service. Designed fiber to the customer (FTTP) for Verizon and
placed aerial fiber for a Syracuse, New York exchange. Also, designed and
planned VATS fiber cables for a residential distribution area in Buffalo, New
York.
Outside Plant Engineer, Mountain
Ltd, Taos, New Mexico (Qwest contract); 7/06 to 4/07
Completed approximately 80 OSP
engineering jobs per quarter. All jobs were completed on-time and within
budget. Designed aerial, buried, and underground facilities for the City of
Taos and Taos Ski Valley. Responsible for projects consisting of road moves,
new building entrance facilities, new residential developments, and
commercial businesses including the completion of field surveys and field
notes. Worked with customers on buried drops for new service and issued drop
sketches for state highway permits. Worked directly with I&M, splicers,
and contract inspectors on current and upcoming projects. Maintained database
records in OSP-FM, CIMAGE, CPD, RTT, LFACS, and NDTT. Interfaced with
customers and developers regarding billing jobs and PAHD agreements.
Network
Engineer, Verizon, Nashua, New Hampshire; 2/05 to 7/06
Designed and completed approximately
160 routine jobs and estimates for the City of Nashua. Ensured projects were
completed in a timely manner and in accordance with customer requests.
Designed aerial, buried, and underground facilities. Worked extensively on
pole designs for new developments and commercial businesses. Jobs included
completing field surveys and field notes; issuing customer billing jobs; and
authorizing and issuing work packages using the Intelligent Design Drafting
System (IDDS). Completed broadband circuits, T1, DSL, and ADSL service requests.
Maintained databases including ECRIS, LFACS, PRS, IDDS, VISIO, and
PEOPLESOFT. Worked directly with customers and developers.
Senior Design
Engineer, Qwest, Littleton, Colorado; 9/03 to 6/04
Completed engineering projects on time
and within budget. Projects consisted of designing and issuing work packages
to construction forces to place and provide DSL equipment and services to
existing businesses and new subdivisions. Placed various types of cabinets
(i.e., USAM, ASAM, 52B, and 52E). Worked with fiber and copper facilities and
verified fiber availability. Designed and issued conduit structures and
placed handholes for new feeder backbone facilities to new construction.
Completed work requests on broadband circuits including HDSL, T1, ISDN, DS1,

for the City of Bremerton and the Puget Sound Naval Ship Yard; ensuring all
projects were completed in a timely manner and in accordance with customer requests.
Designed aerial, underground, copper, and fiber plant facilities. Designed
engineering jobs in conjunction with the OSP Tactical Planner, Construction,
and I&M group including specifications, splicing, and equipment selection
for the distribution portion of the wire center. Conducted pre-construction
walkthroughs, completed field surveys and field notes, and authorized and
issued work packages in OSP-FM. Provided input and maintained databases in
support of work function including OSP-FM, CIMAGE, CPD, LFACS, NDTT, RTT,

Ensured continuous quality improvement
and reduction in engineering cycle time for construction, test, and turn-up.
Performed engineering work to meet customer demands that could not be met
with a standard design. Managed network design services for various wire
centers in the western U.S. Interfaced with local network operations to
ensure pre-provisioning of all new customer requests for service. Designed
HiCap circuits including ISDN, DSL, 56K, DS1, T1, and HDSL. Designed and
managed project placements of feeder and distribution facilities including
copper and fiber for Litespan, and C-Rex carrier technologies. Interfaced
with construction and other work groups to manage the completion of projects.
