Responsibilities:

•              Drafting existing aerial and buried lines as well as housing and listing how many residences.

•              Taking distance measurements between poles. How many phone lines went to each residence.

•              Had to diagram whole city blocks with measurements of where side walks, bushes, trees and any obstructions.

•              Checking for out of limits, ground wires and conditions of poles.

•              Ran the ARIES program, did placement and removal of cables in computer data base.

•              Added larger cable counts for existing residents and new resident housing.

•              Diagramed manholes in order to replace existing cable and air pressure lines and

valves.

•              Checked for leaks in cable lines and checked to confirm air pressure in lines.

•              Used gas meters to check toxic level of air in manhole.

•              Certified in underground and confined spaces. Lane closures and traffic control.

•              Types of tools utilized were Road signs, Road cones, Gas meters, Manhole hooks, Air blowers, Submersible pumps and standard safety equipment.

 

March 2000 to Dec. 2000 Place: Grande Communications

Responsibilities:

•              Map reading, knowing areas and locations of map grids.

•              Made sure aerial lines and buried lines were in proper requirement to city standards.
