•
Pulls telecommunication cabling through wide
variety of buildings architectures (both permanent and temporary, including
tactical) through buried conduit (outside plant) routed between buildings,
telephone poles (aerial runs), ceilings, raised floors and cable troths.

Terminate Category 5 UTP, coaxial, and fiber
optic cables at designated work stations and in telecommunication closets and
distribution frames.
•
Prepares and maintains telecommunication closets
which consist of installing cable trays, ladder racks, J-Hooks, and /or
D-rings to support cable pulls. Splice copper and fiber optic cables, and
trouble shoot and correct copper/fiber cable problems for lack of continuity,
noise, signal loss and degradation, improper termination, excessive loss and
intermittent problems.
•
Establishes and maintain cable records, use
database software such as Remedy to track and control job orders, interpret
drawings to troubleshoot, install and make recommendations for new facilities
and upgrades.
•
Familiar with all fiber/copper materials and
equipment.
•
