WORK EXPERIENCE
OSP/ISP Technician II
Vista International - Bagram, Afghanistan - March 2011 to Oct. 2013
Work with Vista Intl. as the lead OSP/ISP technician in Bagram, and Kandahar. Primary
mission is to provide communication support for the 4/401st AFSB. Job includes: Site
survey, design, installation, and termination of the cabling infrastructure. Participated in
the design of the future, permanent manhole system on the AMC compound. Providing
the 4/401st with access to the NIPRnet, SIPRnet, and Centrix networks.
Cable Technician
Intecon LLC - March 2010 to March 2011
Worked with Intecon LLC; a sub-contractor company under Vista Intl. as an OSP/ISP
Tech assigned to install and maintain the cabling infrastructure on Bagram Air Force
Base in Afghanistan. Project mostly involves outside site surveying, installation and
termination of fiber optic cable (single mode/multi mode), installation of switches, and
cabinets, and Cat-5e installations for connecting devices. Working alongside 401st
AFSB. First job as govt. contractor after 4yrs in Army.
Cable Installation Technician
U.S. Army - Fort Lewis, WA - 2007 to 2010
Telecommunications experience supervising, installing, and fault isolation of
communications networks in the field and fixed facilities. Subject Matter Expert in fiber
splicing/termination (mechanical and fusion) SC, ST, LC, FC connectors, fiber fault
locates & Fiber Patch Cord assembly. Copper cabling including buried and aerial.
Proficient in Fiber optics, LAN & WAN Services/ installation i.e.CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6
terminate RJ45's 568A & 568B Color Code standard's. Copper Termination and splicing
with 710 Modular splicer/splices, punch downs 66, 110 & Krone Blocks. Expert in enduser
support with strong interpersonal, communication and managing skills. Worked
with industry professionals in Iraq. Recognized for strong work ethic, commitment to
service, professional manner and leadership skills during deployments to Iraq in support
of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Possess a Secret Security Clearance.
Cable Installation Technician
U.S. Army, Camp Stanley Korea - 2006 to 2007
Demonstrated exceptional skills as a leader of a 9 man cable installation team. Ran
CX-11230, Fiber Optic cable, and WF-16 for critical field missions. Worked with the
Republic of Korea Army personnel during the RSO&I mission. (Apr. '07) Developed my
skills as an installer within a year. Received Army Achievement Medal after PCS.
