Central Office Technician / Installer

Installation of POTS / DSL lines, T1 / T3 circuits, DSX-1 jumpers, DSX-3 jumpers, Toll tickets, Use of T-Berd 211 and 310. Tek Ranger OTDR, Exfo 930 Max Tester fiber power meter, Installed  relay racks, Ciena 6500 Roadm’s, Alcatel Lucent 1830’s, installation and terminating DC power cables, breakers, lugs, grounding, BDFB “Hot Work” Fiber Optic cables and cat 5e I-lan cables. Able to read, follow MOPS and other engineering drawings. Able to use Metasolve (M6) and Loop Care. Understand how to read LEN’s on frame and install jumpers on the office equipment side to split banks (DSL) or Cable pairs. Also performed battery maintenance on 600 batteries.

2013 – 2013     GE Energy     Plano, TX

Critical Power Field Service Engineer

Under contract with Verizon wire-line / Business offices performed repairs, preventative maintenance, calibrations and installations on Lorain, Emerson, Vortex, Ferro’s, and Peco II power plants.  Other tasks included Midtronics battery testing and string run down testing. Level 4 installation work performed at Verizon cell sites on Eriksson   4G LTE cabinets, DC power cut over cabling from existing equipment, BDFB, battery strings and fuse panels to the new Emerson Net-sure 701 plants. Installed GE Digital Power 675KW UPS 480 Volt 3 Phase systems at the Apple data center in Reno, NV.  

2013 – 2013Henkles & McCoyPomona, CA

Communications Service Technician

Built communications rooms for Southern California Edison at Cal Cap, Red Bluff and Colorado River 500KV sub stations. Work included building racks, DC power, grounding, installing Sycamore digital access cross connect systems and Zhone channel bank equipment, Cisco router, power over Ethernet switches, copper and fiber transmission cabling in communications room. Cabled and cross connected DS3, DS1 circuits from Alcatel MDR 8000 microwave to DSX panels. Testing of copper and fiber jumpers from communications room to maintenance building and relay room. Install jumpers at MDF for alarm points, 2 wire and 4 wire circuits, cat 5 interconnects, VOIP phones.

2011 – 2012Alta TelecomAtlanta, GA

Broadband / Video IPTV Technician

Worked on the island of Oahu, Hawaii installing (NGTV / IPTV) Next Generation TV for Hawaiian Tel. Field work consists of testing  F1 / F2 pairs and  the Alcatel VSEM ports if remotely feed or running frame jumpers if CO feed and running  cross connect jumpers. Work at the premise includes installing diplexer, video splitter in new nid and running cat 5e and or coax to the residential gateway, Installing Cisco set top boxes and configuring customers tv to STB. Premise work also includes setting up, configuration and testing the DSL portion of the installation order. Trouble tickets include freezing or pixilation lost video or audio on one or more STB and slow DSL speeds, connectivity issues.

Daily work includes service orders and trouble tickets for pots, DSL and Prism. Daily use of HST 3000

All tickets completed on laptop. Interface with various departments such as assignment, programming, broadband maintenance, switch techs and frame techs. Testing includes all outside plant for defects, loop length, noise, transmit power, attenuation, margins and DSL speeds both up and down. Changing cable pairs, cards, shelves and ports, Re-engineered devices for shorter path, cross connects, nids, jacks, drop, peds, hand holes ect.

I&R / Field Tech

Worked on POTS, carrier - go digital, Conklin and DSL.  Performed speed tests, cable maintenance on Frontier Property. Daily use of Laptop, Sidekick Plus, 4-Tel. Colt 250+, Harris TS1000.Replaced drops, nids, changed carrier channels and jacks as needed. Diagnosed noise problems and other issues with customers phone lines and cpe. Worked on residential and business lines.

2008-2009 Artech Information Systems   Cedar Knolls, New Jersey

Systems Tech

Work performed on AT&T Property included service orders for Special Services on DSL, Hi-Cap Circuits, 2 wire / 4 wire T1 / T3. Installed CSU/DSU, circuit extensions to customer suite. Repairs and done in CEV, RTU’s cross connects, cell sites and at customer prem. Equipment used on a daily basis include Tempo Sidekick, TS44, Sunrise Telecom STS1, T-Berd_2209, Dynatel 965, AC/DC power supplies and battery banks.

Spliced aerial, buried and underground copper cable for POTS and DSL Lines. Section throws, damage repair, station rehabs, new drops and terminals. Placing and removal of terminals, closures stainless and foam, Hi-Caps, bridge tap removal, VRS testing, all work on Verizon Property

Davar Field Supervisor

I supervised a crew of 13 Field Testers, maintained equipment, software upgrades and communication troubleshooting. Held weekly safety meetings in the field with my testers and updated the master database. The worked performed was for the AT&T “Project Light Speed” FTTN project. “Uverse”

Installed BMT’s, pole mount terminals, strand mount terminals and pedestals for Pots and DSL lines. Built and spliced cross connects, performed section throws, installed new drops and terminals. I am also proficient with copper wire test equipment on F1/F2 pairs.

I used cable testers and VRS on both POTS and DSL lines for testing. Setup and configured the DSL, installed network interface cards, modems and other CPE. Serviced Aerial, buried and underground cables. AC/DC power supplies.
