DESIGN ENGINEER:  December 2006 to June 2009, January 2012 to Present

 

Assigned to work on FTTN conditioning projects at AT&T Communications in Arlington Heights, IL and Des Plains, Ill.

 

Reassigned to work in Legal Mandate regarding road construction projects, Illinois Department of Transportation, State, County and Townships in various areas in Chicago

and the suburban areas.

 

Presently working extensively on an OCALC Project involving calculation of pole loading of joint and solely owned poles that is a requirement for AT&T work orders in aerial construction. Upon completion of these work orders, they are uploaded data and pictures into MIC.

 

Assigned rehab work for replacing defective aerial and buried facilities, which was not effective enough to sustain FTTN services and also interfering with customer service.

 

My experience includes Joint Pole proposals, all aspects from completing new Joint pole

forms originating from AT&T and completing Joint pole forms from Commonwealth Edison to AT&T, including all associated field work.

Responsibilities included taking field notes pertaining to copper distribution and fiber optic construction, conduit construction, right-of-way permits, and loading/deloading cable facilities.

 

Assigned to Northern Illinois and Western Indiana involving work associated with DSL

Engineering for Frontier Communications (Previously Verizon Communications) for fiber

optic and copper feed to pair gains for DSL service.

OUTSIDE PLANT ENGINEER:  January 1971 to Retirement in May 1999

Responsible for field work involving copper distribution and fiber optic construction and acquisition of right-of-way permits. This also included cad drafting, ordering materials major and minor, securing permits, Railroad, Township, City, County and State permits and any other requirements to complete the work order packages.

 

OTHER EMPLOYMENT

 

After receiving an honorable discharge form the US Navy in 1964, I worked at Bendix Corporation in Dayton, Ohio from March of 1964 through February 1970. Responsibilities included shipping, receiving and distribution, as well as various office-related duties. Due to a lay-off in 1970, I relocated to Illinois where I worked as a contractor for Henkels & McCoy.  I was hired by Verizon Communications (formerly GTE) in January of 1970, and remained in that position until my retirement in May of 1999.
