SUMMARY

I am a certified RCDD/OSP Specialist, and have over 25 years of technical and management experience in the telecommunications field.  During this time, I have held various technical positions including: Project Manager, Design Engineer, Quality Assurance Inspector, Splicing Technician and Services Technician. The broad range of skills I possess positions me to be creative, proactive and I have the ability to communicate to Program officials and technicians with ease. This experience level was achieved in a mix of large, medium and small installations.

SMS Data Products Group, Inc., June 2011 – Present, Senior Plant Designer

·         Working daily at the NCE (New Campus East) site in Newington, VA

·         OSP Lead for the NCE campus

·         Duties at NCE includes but is not limited to; designs ISP and OSP projects for the entire reservation, provides quality assurance on IT projects on the reservation, Project Management for both premise and OSP efforts.

 

 

 

SMS Data Products Group, Inc., May 2009 – June 2011, Senior Plant Designer

·         Working daily at the NCE (New Campus East)  site in Newington, VA

·         Duties at NCE includes but is not limited to; designing, reviewing of designs, and provides installation oversight of all low voltage systems currently being installed at the NCE. Performs design reviews and installation oversight of the OSP infrastructure, and cabling. Provides quality assurance of all ISP/OSP installations at the NCE site. Assists in coordination of trades for seamless integration of systems, and coordinates installation and design for all trades on the construction site.

·         Working daily at the offices of the LM/ITA in Arlington, VA

·         Duties at LM/ITA includes but is not limited to; conducts review of all RCDD’s IT designs for passive connectivity in the Pentagon, quality assurance of all ISP/OSP projects for the reservation, designs for many ISP projects, coordination, administration and escort for all contractor personnel requiring access to the reservation, quality assurance for numerous premise wiring projects by both in-house staff and contractor personnel, Project Management for both premise and OSP efforts.

 

Bell Atlantic, April 1994 – January 2001

·         Designed the passive LAN and telecommunications infrastructure for commercial buildings and commercial building tenants, including all time, material, labor, and schedule estimates. 

·         Awarded, directed and performed quality assurance of contractor installations of all types of communications media.

·         Maintained adherence to BICSI and TIA/EIA standards.

·         Designed and implemented backbone infrastructure for Dulles Town Center.

Quality Assurance Inspector, September 1996 – January 1999

·         Inspected all aspects of contractor installations for conformity to TIA/EIA standards, Bell Atlantic contracts and expectations of quality, workmanship & service.

·         Document all phases of the inspection process.

·         Interfaced with personnel from Bell Atlantic, contractors, and government agencies to ensure the successful completion of contracts.

·         Acted as Building coordinator for Presidential Towers Installation.

Service/Splicing Technician, April 1994 – September 1996

·         Lead Technician for LAN and ISDN installations.

·         Fiber optic instruction and services including: fusion splicing, fiber termination, OTDR and power meter troubleshooting and testing.

·         Copper installation and services including buried and aerial splicing, vertical and horizontal cable installations, category 5 UTP installation and all associated testing.
