Lead Inspector

·         Researched proper installation procedures of new micro duct/micro fiber for AT&T project.

·  Supervised the daily construction of AT&T fiber project in Dade and Broward counties including the installation of underground (duct system) manholes, micro duct and micro fiber, and the pulling and splicing of fiber.

·  Confirmed proper permits were issued and supervised traffic (MOT) setup and safety procedures.

·  Prepared daily and weekly reports for AT&T on as-builts concerning the project.

·  Worked with international representatives installing confidential tracking systems for the fiber route.

·  On-Site inspector for Qwest Communication project from Jacksonville to Miami.

·  Inspected and drew as-builts for tie-in crews; and, documented existing fiber for pothole crews.

·  Trained new inspectors regarding proper tie-in, fiber and utility crossings, and various specifications pertaining to the job specification.

·  Coordinated the project with Sunbelt, MCI, and AT&T to maintain proper distance from existing cables.

·  Coordinated the project with FEC Railroad to maintain proper distance from the railroad.

·  On-Site inspector for GTE Media VDT, coaxial cable, and fiber (aerial and buried).

·  Monitored company contract crews for safety procedures, proper permits and locates, placement of strand, coaxial cable, and fiber (aerial and buried).

·  Monitored high risk for GTE telephone buried plant.

·  Public relations with company contract crews (Lucent Technologies, Harris McBurney, Innovative, etc.) and with the companies’ customers.

 

Engineering Manager/Field Engineer

·  Prepared feasibility studies for AT&T, MMFN, Florida Power & Light, and other companies as requested.

·  Managed the field-engineering department for aerial and underground design.

·  Worked closely with Hyperion Project Manager determining the most suitable and cost efficient fiber route for Palm, Broward, and Dade counties in Southeast Florida.

·  Trained new employees regarding the proper method of measuring existing cable heights.

·  Quality control of field maps and final CADD prints.

·  Mapped fiber new-built aerial, and underground; and, make-ready on poles for sufficient clearance.

·  Supervised the day to day mapping of CATV strand, new built, as built, and MDU; and the mapping of fiber new built aerial, and underground.

·  Quality control of field maps from field personnel; and prepared production and payroll reports for the corporate office.

·  Public relations with the company’s clients (i.e. Marcus Cable, MCI, TCI, etc.).

·  Mapped CATV strand, new built, as built, and MDU; and fiber new built, aerial, and underground.

·  Measured the existing utility attachments to poles and designated proper clearance.

 

Assets/Fleet Experience

·         Maintained and tracked the inventory of all fixed assets, including those in all the field offices, by following the guidelines established by the corporate policy and the fixed asset system (FAS).

·  Performed an annual fixed asset audit through visual inspection at all offices.

·  Co-ordinated all fleet activities including vehicle registration, titling, in-fleeting and de-fleeting. Worked with approved fleet vendors for the purchase and transport of new vehicles entering the fleet.

·  Co-ordinated safety equipment purchases with the safety department.

·  Ensured monthly fleet goals were met and/or exceeded.
