Outside Plant Scheduling Engineer

Responsible and accountable for project managing all engineering outside plant copper and fiber optic projects as they passed through the construction process in the Northeast 518 region. Tasks included: Project scheduling and progress reporting using daily assessments tracking as well as manpower utilization studies applying solely developed performance indicators; Coordinated and conducted liaison activities between engineering and construction to ensure that customer commitments and corporate goals were met or exceeded; Prepared specialized, timely budget reports which included extracting and analyzing budget information, as it pertained to schedule compliance, on a monthly basis; Interfaced with both internal and external customers in a daily effort to communicate construction goals, needs and obstacles as they related to the construction schedule; Chaired the weekly Underground Rural Development (URD) capital region utility meetings while managing the project for engineering; Engineered damage case designs and undertook special projects as necessary.

Responsibilities included: Design and preparation of detailed work plans for new telecommunications orders requiring copper cable and associated equipment for aerial, underground and buried distribution from the vertical frame to the customer serving terminal/interface in the growing Saratoga Springs, NY and Ballston Spa, NY wire centers; Main Underground Rural Development (URD) contact for the Saratoga area handling all utility visits, customer interfacing, plant design and construction charges in busy, growing turf; Coordinated and conducted internal/external liaison activities with other area utilities, internal and external customers.

Responsibilities included: Oversight of outside and inside plant design, planning, ordering and implementation of T1 backhaul to 150 wireless sites in 3 US states; Performed planning and integration of components for 2 Lucent Wireless 5ESS environment Mobile Switching Centers, backhaul and interconnection; Worked to ensure continued optimization of network switching/signaling processes and architectures; Monitored network resources to ensure the transport platform maintained the ability to effectively handle the evolving demands of a wireless network; Trained and supervised contract network engineering personnel to continually ensure high performance standards.
