Experienced Cisco Administrator with strong Network and Management background.

I have over a dozen recent years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer system / network / security management.  I currently maintain a government Secret security clearance and have performed System Administration, Security Audits, Network test & evaluation, and Security policy design.

NCI contract at Keesler Air Force Base Hospital, Biloxi MS to monitor & respond to complex hardware, software and network problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques and to maintain multi-building Cisco Network with over 3400 users/devices, 40+ hub rooms, and 60+ switches on AF network. I also manage two other hospital networks that are utilized for non-USAF approved operations.  Projects include documenting network, upgrading/maintenance of Cisco switches (6500, 4500, 3700), IOS software updates, troubleshooting of Cisco network, and assistance with information security.

 

Network Technician  6/09 – 2/10

Employed by Harris IT (a subcontractor to EDS) at Stennis Space Center. Provided Cisco LAN server support, including network management & security software, and connectivity maintenance of the Navy Marine Corps Internet system with over 2500 users on site.  Main job duties involved care and feeding of the site wide Cisco infrastructure and providing support to facilitate planning, design, installation, modification and operation of network capability.

Since my RIF from Triton Systems and then Harris IT (due to economic conditions) I have assisted a handful of small local firms with system problems utilizing my extensive knowledge of PC/LAN communications, network management, and hardware & software in multi-protocol environments.  I have performed security, system admin, database admin, helpdesk support, and system analyst roles.  I also assisted the Treasury Dept (contractor) with a HP corp. data migration project which spanned several cities and Washington DC

 

Security & Network Analyst, SOX Administrator   2/07 – 6/08

I was lead contact for the IT security, network documentation, VPN maintenance & configuration, WSUS testing, updates, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance at Triton Systems of Long Beach MS a division of Dover Industries.  Upon arrival I documented the multi-domain and multi site network, instigated a documentable plan to insure Sarbanes Oxley and industry standards compliance, and started the continuing process of insuring system wide security utilizing Cisco routers, switches, a Cisco ASA appliance and Sonic Wall devices. I coordinated with the CIO the preparation, review and consolidation of client information systems, recommend policies, standards and methodologies, identified changes in computer and systems technology, and interpreted their meaning to senior management.. I designed infrastructure upgrades to the physical structure at our sites, utilized SEM tools, and functioned as task lead providing guidance & training for less experienced technicians.

 

Network Administrator 1/02 – 2/07

I was responsible for the IT department at Coastal Paper in Wiggins MS., a 24/7 manufacturing plant.  I provided Cisco router & switch maintenance, primary interface with vendor support service groups and provided internal analysis and support to ensure appropriate notification during outages or periods of degraded system performance.  I managed contract labor and insured that the wiring infrastructure, data security, equipment maintenance, purchasing, and system installations were handled with minimal impact to normal operations along with input for budgets, acquisitions and business plans. I coordinated the communications of the local Novell data server to the Corporate Microsoft domain and to the main Corporate AS400 data server located in New England and the backup AS400 onsite.  I was also responsible for the enterprise backup DNS / DHCP server, site-wide backup of data, the local Microsoft domain controller, desktop support, and database design.  I assisted upper management develop the preparation of studies, reports, and other business documents along with recommending long and short-range plans for hardware/software selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production resources

I started with Genesis Systems, Bay St.Louis, MS. (Manufacturer of custom computer systems for offshore vessels) as Documentation Manager employing my AutoCAD, Desktop Publishing, and electronics experience to initiate a ship information systems program. I was given additional duties of Installation Manager at six months and data Security Manager at eight months. At ten months I was appointed by owner as part of the management team to run the company while maintaining my existing positions and providing feasibility studies, time and cost estimates and recommendation for establishment and implementation of new and revised plans and programs. I interfaced between our technicians and clients while furnishing troubleshooting support, production requirements, data security support, client billing implementation, crew time/expense approval, ship documentation, and of course strived to ensure Quality workmanship in my department. I also provided review and comments of budget and business plans through periodic review of financial reports and capital appropriation requests.
