and processing of requests for Protected Health Information (PHI), more
specifically, subpoenas for records, for the entire Health Care Service
Corporation (HCSC), which encompasses Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois,
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, and Blue
Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. This Procedure Manual was the first
standardized guideline for the entire enterprise of HCSC, and will serve as a
helpful reference guide not only to the attorneys, but also to all
paraprofessionals working in that area.
